BROCKPORT, N.Y. – The College at Brockport swim and dive teams are on the road again for a solo meet against neighboring Monroe Community College on Saturday at 1 p.m.
Both teams are coming off of tough losses against the Ithaca College Bombers two weekends ago but are eager to get back in the water against the Tribunes. Despite the losses, the Golden Eagles had some standout individual performance against the Bombers, including men's swimmers
Brandon Amthor and
Thomas Knack, who's first and sixth place times in the 100-yard IM broke the Brockport school record previously held by Austin Moyer ('16).
Amthor's time of 55.39 also helped grab him the first PrestoSports Swimmer of the Week selection for the 2019-2020 season.
The men's team also saw strong swims from
Matthew Dambra,
Logan Gregory and
Oliver Dragojevic, each of whom posted top five finishes in multiple events including the 200-yard medley, 200-yard freestyle, 50-yard backstroke/breaststroke, and the 100-yard backstroke/breaststroke.
As for the women's team, the 200-yard freestyle relay team of
Bri Owen,
Rebekah Wilkinson,
Sawyer Parker and
Dee Logory stole the show, posting first place overall with at time of 1:48.49. Individually,
Allison Morrow,
Nicole Orcutt,
Kaitlin Dunning and
Alexa Callaghan each had strong outings as well with multiple second and third place finishes.
On the diving board,
Loren Sayers and
Mark Eaton were the solo top performers for the Golden Eagles; Sayer placing second in the 1 meter with a 235.15 and third overall in the 3 meter with a 233.00 finish. Eaton finished third overall in both the 1 meter and 3 meter, with a score of 251.15 and 231.15 respectively.
After this weekend, the Golden Eagles will travel to SUNY Potsdam on Saturday, Nov. 9th for their first conference meet of the year.
