Swimming and Diving Finishes Weekend With A Pair of Wins Over Potsdam

POTSDAM, N.Y. – The College at Brockport swimming and diving teams brought home a pair of wins this weekend and their first conference wins of the season over SUNY Potsdam. The men's team won 190-103 and the women's team 183-103.
 
Highlights:
 
  • The Golden Eagles had four triple winner swimmers on the day including Sawyer Parker, Logan Gregory, Matthew Dambra and Hailey Rossi.
  • Parker was a triple winner in the 1000-yard freestyle (11:59.55), 200-yard backstroke (2:22.56) and 500-yard freestyle (5:49.52).
  • Gregory was also a triple winner in to 100-yard backstroke (55.39), 200-yard backstroke (2:07.80) and 100-yard butterfly (55.03).
  • Dambra was a triple winner in the 200-yard freestyle (1:51.15), 100-yard freestyle (50.00), and 500-yard freestyle (5:15.89).
  • Rossi was a triple winner in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:14.34), 200-yard breaststroke (2:42.12), and 100-yard butterfly (1:03.56).
  • The women's team swept the first three spots on the leaderboard in the 100-yard butterfly, including Hailey Rossi, Brianna Owen and Haley Brucato finishing in first, second and third respectively.
  • The women's team also swept the top three in the 200-yard IM, including Allison Morrow (2:27.67), Rebekah Wilkinson (2:30.09) and Brucato (2:33.19).
  • Both the 400-yard freestyle relay teams of Sarah Mullane, Julia Fay, Owen and Cassandra Jannsen as well as Billy Tolpa, Gregory, Oliver Dragojevic and Dambra finished off the day for the Golden Eagles with back to back first place finishes.
  • The divers continued their dominance on both sides of the scoreboard with Loren Sayer winning both the 1-meter dive (225.75) and the 3-meter dive (255.25) and Alexiana Foster finishing second in the 1-meter with a score of 198.20.
  • The men's team swept both events with Mark Eaton, Randy Beach and Kurt Mueller securing the top three spots respectively in the 1-meter and 3-meter.
 
Next Up:
 
The Golden Eagles have an off weekend this upcoming week, but will pick things up Saturday, Nov. 23 at Oswego State for a 1 p.m. matchup.
