Brockport, NY – The College at Brockport swim and dive teams hosted Nazareth on Wednesday for a dual meet. The women won the close matchup, 119-117, while the men came up short with the 127-109 loss.
In the final event of the meet, 200-relay, the women's team of
Hailey Rossi,
Sawyer Parker,
Kaitlin Dunning, and
Nicole Orcutt won the event by just .64 seconds to grab 11 points. This key performance pushed Brockport into the lead for the dual meet victory.
Also in the 200-relay, the squad made up of
Bri Owen,
Haley Brucato,
Sarah Mullane, and
Rebekah Wilkinson placed third to score three key points in the event.
Orcutt snagged first place individually in the 500-freestyle with a time of 5:26.18. She also was second in the 200-IM event.
Kaitlin Dunning secured a top place finish in the 50-freestyle with her time of 25.80. Dunning and teammate
Rebekah Wilkinson scored 13 points with a first/second finish in the 100-freestyle event.
Bri Owen clocked in at 1:03.16 for a first place finish in the 100-butterfy, with
Haley Brucato coming in third in 1:05.95.
Lexi Foster took first in the 1-meter dive and second in the 3-meter, with scores of 262.95 and 214.40.
Allison Morrow finished second in the 100-breaststroke with a time of 1:14.30.
Sarah Mullane,
Dee Logory, and
Sawyer Parker went second/third/fourth to total nine points in the 100-backstroke.
The women's team have now won back-to-back dual meets and are 2-0 at home this season in its own pool.
The Green and Gold are back in action this weekend, as the team travels to Buffalo State for a 1 pm start on Saturday.
