Brockport, NY – The SUNY Brockport softball team finished up its trip down in Florida, getting to play 10 games throughout the week. Brockport went 8-2 on the trip, winning eight in a row before the end of the week.
Alison Missavage batted .480 with 12 hits and a team-best 12 RBI's in Florida. She connected for two triples, three doubles, and one home run in total. Teammate
Casey Danko had the highest batting average for Brockport, tallying a team-high 13 hits in 25 at bats. Danko totaled five RBI's on two doubles and one homer.
Kacie Hubbard registered 11 RBI's while batting .391 for the week.
Meghan Cullen scored a team-high 14 runs, as she connected for 11 hits and had four RBI's.
Jessica Koneski tallied 11 hits for eight RBI's in Florida, batting .458.
Julia Palopoli earned a 3-1 record at pitcher, putting in 23.1 innings of work in the circle. She owns a 3.30 ERA and struck out a team-best 12 batters.
Clare Aroune went 2-0 in four starts at pitcher in the week. Aroune struck out eight and had a 2.58 ERA.
Megan Van Dorn was 1-0 in the pitchers circle and worked for a team-best ERA of 1.68 in 8.1 innings pitched. Teammate
Macy Kane went 1-1 in Florida with a 2.25 ERA from 18.2 innings of work. During her time in the circle she struck out four batters and recorded one save.
The Green and Gold started off with two losses, falling to Coast Guard Academy, 8-10, and Wilmington College, 1-3, on the first day of play.
The next day Brockport got its first win, defeating Curry College 15-6. Later on Friday the team won a high scoring affair against SUNY Canton, 14-11.
Casey Danko's RBI single against Oneonta in the sixth inning got the Golden Eagles the 1-0 win to start off Saturday's action. They also defeated Crown College 4-1 on Saturday, and 9-4 on Sunday.
Brockport then swept the three-game set against Keene State on Sunday and Monday. The team defeated the Owls 4-2 in the first game on Sunday. The Green and Gold completed the sweep on Monday defeating Keene State 13-3 and 4-2.
With no more games to be played this spring, the Golden Eagles end the year 8-2 overall after an eight game winning streak down in Florida.
