Scranton, PA - The SUNY Brockport baseball team was on the road Sunday for a game against Scranton University. Brockport lost, 6-1, moving to 2-5 overall on the season.
Tom Kretzler got the start on the hill and struck out six batters in four innings, allowing no runs to score.
Ryan Voight went 2-for-4 at the dish with one double. Teammate
James Houlahan was 1-for-4, and knocked in the only run for the Green and Gold.
Brockport got on the board first with a run in the fourth inning. Scranton responded with six unanswered runs through the remainder of the game. Unable to manufacture any runs for a comeback, Brockport suffered the five-run defeat.
Trevor McCarthy (0-2) received the losing decision on the mound for the Green and Gold. Scranton's Sam Flannery (1-0) got the win on the day.
The Golden Eagles now prepare for their spring trip down to Florida next week. The first game down south is set for Sunday at 6 pm against Rutgers-Newark.
