Brockport, NY – The SUNY Brockport women's swim and dive team improved to 2-1 this season with a win at home over Oneonta. Brockport gets the 161-135 victory in its home pool.
Nicole Orcutt took first place in three different solo events on the day. She won the 1,000-yard freestyle, 200-yard butterfly, and 500-yard freestyle. Orcutt was joined by
Emily Meissner,
Sawyer Parker, and
Emma Butler for a first-place time of 1:46.75 in the 200-yard freestyle relay.
Individually
Sawyer Parker was first in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:06.55 and also placed second in the 200-yard backstroke. In the 100-yard breaststroke,
Allison Morrow won the race with a time of 1:14.20. Morrow was also first in the 200-yard breaststroke.
Emily Meissner and
Emma Butler finished in the top two spots for the 50-yard freestyle event. Meissner also was first in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 58.39.
Bri Owen swam a time of 1:06.50 for second place in the 100-yard butterfly.
Kyra Russ scored a 224.77 for first place in the 3-meter diving competition. Teammates
Ren Watson and
Caroline Rossi secured second and third for Brockport on the 3-meter board. On the 1-meter board
Ren Watson,
Moira Kurak, and
Caroline Rossi earned first, second, and third in the event.
The 200-yard medley relay squad of
Sawyer Parker,
Hailey Rossi,
Bri Owen, and
Emily Meissner placed second in the race with a time of 2:01.85. Rossi also was third in the 200-yard breaststroke and
Emily Comer was third in the 500-yard freestyle.
The Golden Eagles look for win number three next weekend as they head to Monroe Community College for another dual meet. The action gets started at 1 pm on Saturday, November 6
th.
