Potsdam, NY – The SUNY Brockport women's swim and dive team defeated SUNY Potsdam in a dual meet on Saturday, 197-78. Brockport dominated by placing first in 15 out of 16 events at the meet.
Nicole Orcutt won three individual events on the day and added a relay victory as well. She recorded a time of 11:33.85 to win the 1000-yard freestyle race. She also won the 500-yard freestyle with her mark of 5:39.51. In the 200-yard butterfly she placed first with a time of 2:26.72.
Orcutt was joined by
Elizabeth Sagan,
Sawyer Parker, and
Allison Morrow for first in the 200-yard freestyle relay. The women's 200-yard medley relay team won with a time of 1:58.19, which featured
Bri Owen along with Sagan, Parker, and Morrow.
Clocking in at 2:06.89,
Sawyer Parker earned one of her two individual victories at the meet. Her second win on the day came with a time of 2:26.72 in the 200-yard backstroke. Teammate
Corinne Wilson won the 100-yard backstroke event thanks to a mark of 1:09.47.
Allison Morrow took first in the both the 100 and 200-yard breaststroke events with times of 1:14.92 and 2:40.71 respectively. Diver
Kyra Russ won on the 1-meter board with a score of 245.75 and won on the 3-meter board scoring 239.65 points.
Freshman
Elizabeth Sagan continues to perform well in her first season at the collegiate level. She placed first in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.18 and in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 55.91. Senior
Bri Owen registered a first-place time of 1:05.98 in the 100-yard butterfly competition.
The Golden Eagles are back on the road next weekend with a trip to Oswego for more action in the pool. The meet is scheduled to begin at 1 pm on Saturday, November 20
th.
