Rochester, NY – The SUNY Brockport swim and dive teams competed at the 2021 Monroe CC Fall Invite. Brockport raced against competitors from MCC, JCC, GCC, and ECC on the day. The women's squad won 12 events and the men snagged four even victories on the day.
Elizabeth Sagan had a great day, bringing home four first place finishes total with two individual wins. She won the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle events with times of 25.23 and 57.21 respectively.
Taylan Getiren snagged first place in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:12.22. Diver Mark Eaton was first in the 1-meter dive after six dives, the 3-meter after six dives, and 3-meter dive after 11 dives.
Sawyer Parker had two wins of her own on the day, taking first in the 200-yard individual medley and in the 500-yard freestyle.
Allison Morrow's time of 1:08.68 earned her first in the 100-yard individual medley.
Cody Conte swam a time of 19:48.90 to take second in the 1,650-yard freestyle event. In the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard individual medley, Billy Tolpa and Oliver Dragojevic each earned second place in their respective events. Dragojevic's time of 1:05.58 also was good for second in the 100-yard butterfly.
Bri Owen won the 50-yard butterfly with a time of 29.62 in the event.
Kyra Russ was first in the 1-meter diving event after six dives, with a score of 202.10. Russ also was on top on the 3-meter board after six dives with a mark of 217.95.
Matthew Chan took second in the 100-yard backstroke race, clocking in at 1:01.73. Chan teamed up with Billy Tolpa, Oliver Dragojevic, and Ryan Sampson for second in the 200-yard medley relay. Dragojevic, Chan, Samspon, and Conte placed second in the 800-yard freestyle relay.
The women's 200-yard medley relay squad of Sagan, Morrow, Orcutt, and Parker placed first with a time of 2:01.40. The same group recorded a time of 8:40.00 for another first-place finish in the 800-yard freestyle event.
Individually,
Corinne Wilson won the 100-yard backstroke event with a time of 1:09.90.
Nicole Orcutt's time of 1:04.34 earned her first in the 100-yard butterfly event.
The Golden Eagles now prepare for another road meet next weekend on Saturday, November 13
th. They head to SUNY Potsdam for the action.
