Brockport, NY – The SUNY Brockport men and women's swimming and diving team will be traveling to compete against SUNY Oneonta on Saturday, November 5
th at 1pm.
Last Race Recap: Both teams fell to Nazareth on the road but not without a fight. The men fell short of the win due to the final 200-meter freestyle relay by .35 milli-seconds. Jace Frederickson held it down in the 200-meter freestyle, coming in first place. Teammate Luca Olivieri dominated in the 200-meter Individual Medley touching the pads at a 2:19.98, eight seconds before a second-place finish from Nazareth.
Orcutt pulled out two first place finishes in both the 400-meter and 800-meter freestyle distance events.
Sawyer Parker placed first in the 100-meter freestyle and
Miya Vitale crushed the 100-meter backstroke also placing first.
Caroline Rossi placed third on the 1-meter with a score of 173.64 and third again on the 3-meter with a score of 156.90. Kurt Mueller placed first for both events. On the 1-meter Mueller scored 243.45, and on the 3-meter 207.60. Ren Watson placed second on the 1-meter with a score of 216.38 and 201.08 on the 3-meter.
Diver of the Week: After the first dual meet of the year for the Golden Eagles,
Caroline Rossi was named SUNYAC Women's Diver of the Week. On the 1-meter board she took third place to score three points for Brockport. She earned a final score of 173.64 for the event. She came back with a 156.90 score in the 3-meter diving competition. Once again Rossi would do enough for third place and three more points for the squad.
A Look at The Red Dragons: This past weekend both the men and women swimming and diving programs beat Oswego State. Last year at the SUNYAC Championships both squads pulled out sixth place in the conference.
Up Next: The following Saturday, November 12
th the SUNY Brockport Swimming and Diving team will host their home opener against SUNY Potsdam at 1pm in The James B. Fulton Natatorium in Brockport, New York.
