Brockport, NY – The SUNY Brockport men's ice hockey team will travel to Morrisville on Wednesday, February 2nd to battle the Mustangs (7-10-1, 2-8) in a SUNYAC contest.
 
The Golden Eagles (12-6-1, 5-4-1) traveled to the north country where they tied its first contest against SUNY Potsdam (2-15-1, 1-10-1) 2-2 and lost to Plattsburgh State (11-7-3, 7-4-1) the following night by a score of 4-3.
 
Potsdam Recap:
The game was back and forth as Potsdam scored the only goal of the first period before 
Andrew Harley scored off an assist from 
Ryan Romeo 3:54 into the second period to tie up the game. Potsdam would take the lead again in the second period until 
Anthony Hora scored the tying goal 16:52 into the third period which sent the game into overtime. With no goals scored in OT the game resulted in a tie game at 2-2.
 
Plattsburgh Recap:
Ryan Romeo Scored two goals for Brockport adding to his incredible season giving him 32 total points all year on 11 goals and 21 assists. 
Connor Galloway also record two points on a goal and assists with 
Andrew Harley getting his two points this game off two assists. The Golden Eagles let up thee answered goals in the first period before recording one for themselves only for Plattsburgh to answer right back. With the score 4-1 heading into the second period Galloways goal put Brockport's deficit a 4-2 heading into the third period. 
Ryan Romeo would score his second goal of the game in the Golden Eagles comeback effort 18:39 into the final period before time ran out for the final score to result 4-3 in Plattsburgh's favor.
 
Notable Achievements
With his assist against Potsdam, Romeo reached a total of 30 points this season and 80 career points. With two goals against Plattsburgh Romeo now has a total of 32 points this season from 11 goals and 21 assists.
 
Andrew Harley reached a quarter way to 100 points as the sophomore netted his 15th assist this season versus Plattsburgh to reach 25 career points.
 
Nolan Egbert (9-4-1) will be searching to pick up his 10th win in a Green and Gold uniform as the senior goaltender currently holds a 1.87 goals against average. Egberts also accumulated a .934 save percentage making 365 total saves this season while allowing only 26 goals through 15 games played including two shutouts.
 
Looking at Morrisville
When these two teams faced off earlier this season on November 6th, 2021, the Golden Eagles defeated the Mustangs by a score of 5-2. Four different Golden Eagle's tallied a goal in the contest as 
Jake Colosanti recorded two goals with 
Scott Ramaekers, 
Andrew Harley, and 
Jacob Rodrigue each tallying the first goals of their collegiate careers in the win. since then, Jake Kaplan has been leading the Mustang's offense totaling 15 points on eight goals and seven assists. Owen Liskiewics (2-8) was the Mustangs goalkeeper to begin the season but since then has joined the Binghamton Black Bears of the Federal Prospects Hockey League (FPHL) as of December 17th, 2021. Now splitting time for Morrisville between the pipes is Garret Boyonski (3-1) and Ryan Creenan (2-1-1). Boyonoski has recorded a 2.20 goals against average and .910 save percentage while Creenen's posted a 2.01 average In three games allowing six goals and a .955 save percentage.

The Golden Eagles will be on the road this Friday to take on #13 Oswego State (14-4-1, 9-1-1) at the

here. The game is set for Friday, February 4th at 7:00 PM and will see Oswego host its Pride Night along with honoring its senior skaters for Senior Night. The following night SUNY Brockport will host SUNY Cortland (10-9-1, 5-5-1) at the Tuttle North Ice Arena in Brockport, NY. That game is set to begin at 7 PM.
 
The Teddy Bear Toss will return next Friday, February 11th at 7:00 PM against Buffalo State as presented by Brockport's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
