The SUNY Brockport wrestling program is set to travel to the NCAA Division III Mideast Regional on Saturday and Sunday hosted by Elizabethtown College in Elizabethtown, Pa. The meet is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. each day, doors open at 10 a.m.

NWCA Regional Rankings: According to the National Wrestling Coaches Association Mideast Regional Rankings,
Matt Caccamise is the top ranked wrestler in the region at 125. Eli Sims is ranked fourth in the 141 pound weight class, while
Marquis Larmond is ranked No. 6 at 149.
Austin Reed is ranked No. 6 at 157 and
Richard Knapp is the top ranked heavyweight in the region.
National Rankings: Matt Caccamise is ranked No. 10 nationally in the NWCA Division III Coaches Rankings, while
Richard Knapp is ranked No. 9 in the 285 pound weight class. Both Caccamise and Knapp are contenders just outside of the top 10 in the D3wrestle.com National rankings as of February 4
th.
Looking Back: Brockport went 2-0 in two duals on Senior Day at the Jim & John Vlogianitis Gymnasium back on February 12
th. The Golden Eagles topped Pennsylvania College of Technology 43-6 and came back with a 37-9 win over Alfred State. Brockport improved its dual meet record to 4-1 on the season.
Top Records: Matt Caccamise heads to regionals with a 15-3 record this season.
Zach Levey is 19-6, while
Austin Reed is 14-8.
Marquis Larmond is 17-9, while
Richard Knapp is 22-2.
Nick Franco holds a 14-8 record and
Chris Eames is 16-5.
Last Year at Regionals: Brockport placed third in the team competition and claimed three individual regional titles at the 2020 NCAA Mideast Regional Championships hosted by Ithaca College.
Matt Caccamise (125 lb),
Elijah Sims (141 lb) and
Richard Knapp (285 lb) won regional titles to punch their tickets to the NCAA Division III Championships. Nine Golden Eagles earned a podium finish as Brockport collected 116.5 team points to edge nationally-ranked RIT by one point in the team standings. The third-place finish marked the highest team finish for Brockport since 2016.

Zack Brown placed seventh.
Looking Ahead: A first place individual finish at regionals will guarantee a national qualification. This year's NCAA Division III Championships will take place on March 11-12 at the U.S. Cellular Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
