Matt Caccamise and Zach Levey both punched their tickets to the NCAA Division III National Wrestling Championships after excellent performances at the Mideast regionals hosted by Elizbethtown this past weekend. Caccamise placed first in the 125-pound weight class and Levey finished third at 133.  As a team, the Golden Eagles placed eighth out of 20 with 60.5 points. 

Caccamise and Levey will now travel to NCAA's on March 11-12 at the U.S. Cellular Center in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.  Brockport's Chris Eames (184) placed fifth for the second straight year, while Marquis Larmond earned an eighth-place finish in his first regional appearance. 


Caccamise followed up an unbeaten day one with two straight victories to win his second straight NCAA Regional crown at the 125-pound weight class.  Caccamise will now advance to the NCAA Championships for the third straight season. On Sunday, Caccamise won a 7-5 decision over Ursinus's Terry Adams in the semifinals and went on to defeat Muhlenberg's Joey Lamparelli, 5-3, in the first-place matchup. He will enter NCAA's with a 19-3 overall record. 


Zach Levey placed third in the 133-pound weight class in his first collegiate regional appearance.  Levey lost in his first match of the day but finished with two straight victories to earn his spot in nationals.  He pinned NJCU's Andrew Ruiz at 6:57 in the consolation semifinals.  He then added a fall victory over TCNJ's Jake Giordano at 3:31 in the third-place match to punch his ticket to NCAA's.  Levey finished the weekend with a 4-1 record and will enter nationals with a 23-7 overall record. 


Brockport's Chris Eames placed fifth for the second straight season at regionals for Brockport.  He won the fifth-place match by the score of 12-6 over RIT's Colby Giroux to score 9.0 team points for the Golden Eagles.  He finished the weekend with a 3-2 record and finished the year with a 19-8 overall record. 


Brockport's Marquis Larmond placed eighth in the 149-pound weight class in his first collegiate regional appearance.  He went 2-3 on the weekend for Brockport and scored 5.5 team points.
