The SUNY Brockport baseball team picked up another huge Region III non-conference victory as the Golden Eagles completed the regular season sweep of visiting University of Rochester on Wednesday afternoon, 14-1, at the Clark V. Whited Baseball Complex.
Brockport has now won 21 straight home games and they are 21-1 at home in the last two seasons. The Golden Eagles have won three straight games and they improved to 26-6 overall on the season. Brockport and Rochester are two of the of seven Region III teams ranked in the first release of the NCAA Division III Regional rankings which will help the NCAA national committee determine the at-large bids into the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament in mid-May. The Yellow Jackets, one of the top teams in the Liberty League, saw their record fall to 25-8 overall on the season. Both Brockport and Rochester are currently receiving votes in the latest D3baseball.com National Top 25.Â
Brockport starting pitcher
Colin Pytlak threw a gem as he went 6.2 innings and picked up his career-high fifth win of the season. He did not allow an earned run, allowed just four hits, and struck out seven to lead the way in the victory for Brockport.Â
Nick Lawlor and
Keegan Jarvais came on and closed the door for Brockport as they combined for 2.1 innings of hitless work.Â
Ryan Mansell went 2-for-4 with three RBI's and two runs scored.Â
Tom Kretzler went 2-for-3 with three runs scored and a bases clearing triple.Â
Nicholas Pastore hit a 2-run home run to kick things off for Brockport in the bottom half of the first inning and he finished the day with three RBI's and two runs scored.
Justin Pangburn added two hits and two runs scored.Â
Ryan Mansell's two-RBI single to left field scored two runs for Brockport and gave the Golden Eagles a commanding 4-0 lead in the bottom of the second. Brockport scored eight runs over the course of the first four innings to take control of the contest at the midway point.

Brian Tietjen added an RBI single in the fourth to put the Golden Eagles on top 8-0.Â
UofR got one run back in the seventh, but that was as close as the Yellow Jackets would get. The Golden Eagles answered with a six run seventh inning to close out the scoring on the day, 14-1.Â
James Houlahan had an RBI in the seventh, Mansell added an RBI single, and Kretzler drove in a three-RBI triple to clear the bases.Â

Jason Mansell also added a hit and a run scored for the Golden Eagles.
Brockport returns to action on Friday against New Paltz (3 p.m.) for its annual Hometown Hero's event where the Golden Eagles will honor several service men and women. Saturday marks Brockport's senior day where the Golden Eagles will celebrate their graduating class prior to the start of game one at noon. Brockport will also host a senior student-athlete picnic on Saturday, and it will honor all Golden Eagle senior student-athletes between the two games of the doubleheader against New Paltz around 2 p.m.
