Brockport Ties on The Road Again

Elmira, NY – The SUNY Brockport men's soccer team (0-0-2) played at Elmira College (1-0-1) on Saturday afternoon with each team scoring two goals, resulting in a draw.

The Golden Eagles outshot Elmira, 18-11, and placed 10 shots on goal. They earned seven corner kicks compared to Elmira's two and had six less fouls. It was a physical, hard-fought match which resulted in two Brockport yellow cards and seven cards for the Soaring Eagles.

Brockport broke the silence after a scoreless first half with a goal from Seamus Parker at the 51:42 mark. Elmira responded with back-to-back goals in the 79th and 80th minute of the contest, going up 2-1. Matthew Stefaniw came up clutch with the equalizer with just 10:21 left in the game. Stefaniw's goal would be the last of the match, providing the 2-2 final score.
 
Stefaniw had four shots this game to lead the team, while Josh Fitzpatrick fired three shots on goal. Andy Cespedes, Warren Banks, Julian Castellanos, Nick Van Wie, Max Voyer, Seamus Parker and Alex Rivara all recorded shots for the Golden Eagles.

Andrew Taylor covered the net for the full game yet again, recording five saves in a full 90-minute effort.
 
The Golden Eagles will play the Cardinals of St. John Fisher next on Wednesday, September 7th in Pittsford, New York at Growney Stadium. The match is scheduled to begin at 7 pm under the lights.
