Brockport, NY – The SUNY Brockport men's and Women's swimming and diving team hosted Buffalo State on Friday, January 13^th for the first dual meet of the new year. Buffalo states women fell to Brockport 189 – 53 while their men lost 161-76.
 
The Women's team came out of the gate hot with a first-place finish in the 200-yard medly relay. The team of Miya Vitale, Addy Martino, Emily LeFrois-Heath and Elizabeth Sagan touched the pads with a time of 1:53.82.
 
Hannah Pauly touched the pads first in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 12:15.37.
 
Brockport swept the women's 200-yard freestyle with first, third and fourth place. Sawyer Parker touched first with a time of 2:02.80, Qian Rappazzo in third with a time of 2:16.20 and Esther Zadov with a time of 2:16.64.
 
In the 50-yard backstroke Emily LeFrois-Heath touched first with a time of 29.37. Corinne Wilson placed third with a time of 32.12.
 
Brockport took 1-3-5 in the women's 50-yard breaststroke. Addy Martino touched the pads with a 33.03. Teagan Makuch touched at 34.91 and Maya Upcraft with a 47.86.
 
Vitale finished first in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:04.26. Sam Whitman placed third with a 1:10.50 and Alexa Callaghan in fourth with a 1:11.41.
 
The Green and Gold took 1-3-4 in the 50-yard freestyle. Sagan placed first with a time of 25.01. Emma Purvis touched third with a 27.46 and Emma Butler right behind with a 28.22.
 
Sagan dominated the 100-yaard freestyle with a first-place finish and a time of 55.24. In third was Parker with a time of 56.85 and in fourth was Purvis with a 59.66.
 
Vitale (1:03.14) and Wilson (1:08.99) snagged first and second in the 100-yard backstroke followed by Upcraft (1:26.88).
 
Addy Martino snagged first in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:12.32. Teagan Makuch placed third with a 1:17.19.
 
Brockprort took 1-2-3 in the 500-hundred freestyle. Emily LeFrois-Heath touched first with a time of 5:26.08, followed by Hannah Pauly (6:01.28) and Esther Zadov (6:04.41).
 
Vitale took the 50-fly with a time of 28.78 followed by Callaghan in third with a 30.10 and Butler in fourth with a 30.21.
 
LeFrois-Heath took first In the 100-yard individual medley with a time of 1:04.48.
 
The team of Martino, Callaghan, Butler and Pauly brought it home with a first-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:52.57.
 
Down in the well Caroline Rossi scored a 182.17 in the 3-meter diving event and a 189.37 on the 1-meter.
 
The team of Jace Frederickson, Luca Olivieri, Joe Keeney and Garrett Nanna snagged first place in the men's 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:45.09.
 
Ethan Niver and Gavin Stone took second and third in the 1000-yard freestyle. Niver touched the pads at 12:25.63 and Stone touched 11 seconds after at 12:36.72.
 
Jace Fredericksen placed first in the men's 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:53.46. Ryan Sampson placed third with a time of 2:08.09.
 
Matt Chan and Garett Nanna placed second and third in the 50-yard backstroke with a time of 28.69 and 28.78
 
Luca Olivieri dominated the 50-yard backstroke with a time of 29.51.
 
Brockport took 2-3-4 in the 100-yard butterfly. Joe Keeney placed second with a time of 57.52. Logan Kime placed third with a time of 1:05.18 and Ethan Niver touched fourth with a time of 1:05.63
 
Nanna snagged first in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 24.62. Followed by Gavin Stone in third with a time of 25.12 and Jacob Hagen in fourth with a 26.22.
 
Joe Keeney placed second in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 54.39 followed by teammate Ryan Sampson in third with a 56.33 and Jacob Hagen in fourth with a 59.86.
 
Matt Chan took second in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:02.09.
 
Luca Oliveri placed first in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:05.00.
 
Fredericksen placed first in the 500-yard freestyle with a 5:17.61. Niver placed third with a 6:01.38 and Stone touched fourth with a 6:07.31.
 
Keeney took first in the 50-fly with a 25.32 followed by Kime in third with a time of 28.31.
 
Oliveri took first in the 100-IM with a time of 57.38.
 
The team of Nanna, Stone, Chan and Fredericksen brought it home with the first place 200-yard freestyle relay (1:38.49).
 
Down in the well, Kurt Mueller placed first on the 1-meter diving event with a score of 239.40, and a 241.42 on the 3-meter board.
 
The team will head to Geneva, NY to compete against Hobart William Smith, Cazenovia and Wells College in a 16-event, short course invite on Saturday, January 14^th at 1pm.
