Swim and Dive Set for Big SUNYAC Match Up Friday

Brockport, NY – The SUNY Brockport Men's Swimming and Diving teams will be heading to SUNY Geneseo for a big SUNYAC match up this Friday at 5pm.
 
Diver of the Week: On Monday, the SUNYAC named Caroline Rossi the conference Diver of the Week. Down in the well last weekend, Rossi scored a 182.17 in the 3-meter diving event and a 189.37 on the 1-meter.

Last Meet Recap: Brockport Swim and Dive had a big weekend. Both the Men's and Women's teams beat Buffalo State Friday evening and then placed first the following day at the Hobart William Smith Spring Invitational.
 
Brockport defeated Buffalo State's women, 189-53, and the men, 161-76. 
 
The women's team came out of the gate hot with a first-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay. The team of Miya Vitale, Addy Martino, Emily LeFrois-Heath and Elizabeth Sagan touched the pads with a time of 1:53.82.
 
Hannah Pauly touched the pads first in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 12:15.37.
 
Brockport swept the women's 200-yard freestyle with first, third and fourth place. Sawyer Parker touched first with a time of 2:02.80, Qian Rappazzo in third with a time of 2:16.20 and Esther Zadov took fourth with a time of 2:16.64.
 
In the 50-yard backstroke Emily LeFrois-Heath touched first with a time of 29.37. Corinne Wilson placed third with a time of 32.12.
 
Brockport took 1-2-3 in the 500-freestyle. Emily LeFrois-Heath touched first with a time of 5:26.08, followed by Hannah Pauly (6:01.28) and Esther Zadov (6:04.41).
 
Vitale took the 50-fly with a time of 28.78. She was followed by Callaghan in third with a 30.10 and Butler in fourth with a 30.21.
  
The team of Jace FredericksonLuca OlivieriJoe Keeney and Garrett Nanna snagged first place in the men's 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:45.09.
 
Ethan Niver and Gavin Stone took second and third in the 1000-yard freestyle. Niver touched the pads at 12:25.63 and Stone touched 11 seconds after at 12:36.72.
 
Jace Frederickson placed first in the men's 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:53.46. Ryan Sampson placed third with a time of 2:08.09.
 
Frederickson placed first in the 500-yard freestyle with a 5:17.61. Niver placed third with a 6:01.38 and Stone touched fourth with a 6:07.31.
 
Keeney took first in the 50-fly with a 25.32 followed by Kime in third with a time of 28.31.
 
Oliveri took first in the 100-IM with a time of 57.38.
 
The team of Nanna, Stone, Chan and Frederickson brought it home with the first place 200-yard freestyle relay (1:38.49).
 
Down in the well, Kurt Mueller placed first on the 1-meter diving event with a score of 239.40, and a 241.42 on the 3-meter board.
 
The men earned 477 points total, and the women earned 569 points total at the Hobart William Smith Spring Invitational. 
 
The 200-yard medley relay also finished first with a time of 1:48.45, swam by Matthew ChanLuca OlivieriJoe Keeney and Jace Frederickson.
 
Ryan Sampson held the 1000-yard freestyle down placing first with a time of 12:17.79.
 
Frederickson (1:55.39) placed first in the 200-yard freestyle followed by Matthew Chan (2:00.90) in second, Gavin Stone (2:02.37) in third, Ethan Niver (2:08.78) in fourth and Jacob Hagen (2:15.12) in fifth. 
 
Oliveri placed first in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 23.15 and in the 100-back. His 100-back time of 55.90 set a new pool record at William Smith & Hobart for the event.
 
Joe KeeneyGarrett NannaJace Frederickson and Luca Olivieri finished first in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:34.43.
 
Down in the well, Kurt Mueller placed second on the 3-meter event with a score of 219.05, as well as the 1-meter with a score of 220.50.
 
The 200-yard medley relay team of Corinne Wilson, Addy Martino, Alexa Callaghan and Elizabeth Sagan placed first with a time of 1:58.42 to get the meet started.
 
Emily LeFrois-Heath and Esther Zadov swept the 1000-yard freestyle placing first and second. LeFrois-Heath touched the pads at 11:19.07, Zadov did a minute later at 12:44.63.
 
Sagan placed first in the 100-back with a time of 1:06.91.
 
The relay team of Corinne Wilson, Sawyer Parker, Emily LeFrois-Heath and Miya Vitale brought the win home with a first-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay, touching the pads with a time of 1:46.52.
 
Down in the well Caroline Rossi placed first in the 1-meter diving event with a score of 189.25, as well as the 3-meter with a score of 183.15.
 
Looking at The Blue Wave: Geneseo has a total of 21 swimmers and 4 divers on the men's side with 26 swimmers and 6 divers for the women. Both teams for Geneseo are 6-1 going into Friday's meet against Brockport.
 
Up Next: Following Friday's away meet the Swimming and Diving program will return to James B. Fulton Natatorium on Friday, January 27th to face Monroe Community College at 6pm. The next day Brockport will be hosting a tri-meet on Saturday, January 28th at 1pm. Saturday's tri-meet will also be the team's Senior Day Chuck a Duck event.
