Brockport, NY – On Wednesday, February 1
st the SUNY Brockport wrestling team will host the #20 RIT Tigers for a dual match at 7pm.
Senior Night: The Golden Eagles will be celebrating Senior Night on Wednesday to recognize and honor this year's senior class. Prior to the start of the competition, there will be a short ceremony for the eight seniors. The following wrestlers will be celebrated:

Jaleel Herrar,
Matthew Kline,
Elijah Sims,
Michael Sullivan,
Joe Yanis, and
Jared Zenie.
Dual Action: So far this season Brockport owns a 6-4 record in dual matches. Most recently the squad went 2-1 at the WPI Duals this past weekend. Brockport picked up wins over the University of Southern Maine, 25-16, and Worcester Polytechnic Institute, 25-13. The one loss came against the No.2 ranked squad from Johnson & Wales University, 28-9.
Last Week's Winners: At 125,
Liam Bullock picked up two wins for the Green and Gold. He earned a win by forfeit against Southern Maine and then won a, 9-2, decision against WPI.
Elijah Sims went a perfect 3-0 at the WPI Duals in the 149-weight class. He got wins by an 8-5 decision, a 7-2 decision, and a win by fall in 1:29 to close out the day.
Matthew Kline won his first two bouts of the day at 165. Kline earned a 6-3 decision in his first go around before taking a 5-1 sudden victory in his second showing.
Competing in the 197 division,
Michael Sullivan won all three of his matchups last weekend. After a victory by fall in 2:34 to start the day, he followed up with a 9-4 decision and a 5-1 decision.
With wins by decision of 4-1 and 15-9,
Gavin McLaughlin snagged a pair of wins in the 184-weight class for Brockport.
Joe Yanis finished the trip to WPI with a win by fall in 1:29 in the 285-division.
At, 174,
Jared Zenie took a 5-3 decision against his opponent from Southern Maine.
Francis Whitehouse dominated his WPI foe, 13-1, for a major decision victory.
Open Mat Rankings: Prior to last week's event at WPI, Brockport had two wrestlers listed in the Open Mat NCAA DIII Rankings.
Michael Sullivan came in at 12
th in the rankings for the 197-weight class. At 149, teammate
Elijah Sims was listed as 17
th in the latest rankings.
Nationally Ranked Tigers: RIT came in at 20
th in the latest Open Mat NCAA DIII Rankings for dual competition. The Tigers are 6-3 on the season in duals, picking up wins in their last two matchups. Last season when Brockport and RIT faced off with each other, RIT got the win at home, 28-9.
The Tigers currently have four wrestlers ranked in their respective weight classes. Austin Lamb is fourth at 165, Colby Giroux is ranked 12
th at 184, Josh Harkless is 19
th in the 197-division, and Chris Horton also sits at 19
th at 141.
Brockport Tri-Match Ahead: Following the Senior Night matchup with RIT, the Golden Eagles will prepare for another chance to host some action on the mats. They will welcome both Lycoming College and Niagara County Community College on Saturday, February 11
th for the Brockport Tri-Match.
