Brockport, NY - The Brockport wrestling team will kick off its 2023-24 season on Wednesday, November 1^st at the University at Buffalo Duals. The Golden Eagles will face off with Buffalo, Glenville State, NCCC, and Seton Hill (PA) with the action beginning at 1 p.m. Brockport will then head to Alliance, OH for the Mount Union Invitational on Saturday, November 4th. 
 
Last Season's Recap: The Golden Eagles finished the 2022-23 season 7-6 in dual meet action, while also securing a 2^nd place finish in the Empire Collegiate Wrestling Championship at Oswego. Elijah Sims (149), Matthew Kline (165), Michael Sullivan (197), and Joe Yanis (285) represented the Green and Gold at NCAA Regionals, taking 12^th place with 54 points as a team. Elijah Sims punched his ticket to NCAA Nationals following an undefeated day two of regionals, posting a 3-0 record. Joe Yanis also secured his sport at the NCAA Nationals with two wins in the consolation bracket (2-1 and 2-0).
 
Key Returners: The Golden Eagles return graduate student Elvis Vasquez for the 2023-24 seasons along with 5 returning seniors. The returning senior class is made up of Mahmoud Esa, Nick Franco, Marquis Larmond, and Francis Whitehouse. Junior Alexander Fronczak and 5 sophomores make up the rest of the returning Golden Eagles. The sophomore class is made up of Nicholas Baco, Liam Bullock, Jaden Friel, Charles Loucks, and Gavin McLaughlin.
