Cortland, NY – On Saturday the Golden Eagles wrestled at the Red Dragon Duals, hosted by Cortland. They went 0-3 on the day, moving to 1-8 on the season in dual competition.
The first matchup of the outing was against the St. John Fisher Cardinals. The Cardinals took the win in the match, 45-6.
Kiam Coleman was able to snag the lone points for Brockport in the 174 division. He pinned his opponent in 2:57.
Up next on the day was Brockport's battle against the hosting Cortland Red Dragons. Cortland earned the victory by a score of 41-9.
At 197,
Gavin Lopez got his first win of the day. He picked up points with a decision victory, 12-7.
Then in the heavyweight bout,
Alexander Fronczak was victorious. He pinned his opponent in 3:44 to score points for the Green and Gold.
Saturday got wrapped up with the squad's matchup against Alfred State. The Pioneers defeated Brockport, 46-6.
Scoring the only points in the match for the team was
Elvis Vasquez in the 149 weight class. He pinned his opponent in 2:02 to get the win.
The Golden Eagles now have time off to prepare for the New York State Intercollegiate Open, hosted by Nassau Community College. The event is scheduled for Saturday, January 20
th.
