Brockport, NY- The SUNY Brockport wrestling team will be returning home for some Tri-Match action against Lycoming College and Niagara County Community College (NCCC) on February 11th. Brockport opens up the day at 11am against Lycoming, then at 1pm Lycoming and NCCC will face-off, and finally NCCC will then take on the Golden Eagles at 2:30pm for the final set.
 
Ranked Golden Eagles: Senior Michael Sullivan made an appearance in the latest Open Mat NCAA Division III Rankings, slotting in at 11^th in the 197lb division. Senior Elijah Sims also made an appearance, placing 19^th in the nation at the 149lb division.
 
Last Match Recap: The Golden Eagles hosted #20 RIT for their Senior Day match. Brockport recognized eight seniors in Chris Eames, Sam Grey, Jaleel Herrar, Matthew Kline, Elijah Sims, Michael Sullivan, Joe Yanis, and Jared Zenie.
 
In the first bout of the night, Liam Bullock dominated his matchup in the 125-weight class. Bullock won by way of pin only 1:47 into the first period.
 
Michael Sullivan was handed a win at197lb, as RIT forfeited the match for the weight class.
 
At heavyweight, Joe Yanis pulled out a dramatic win to close out the night. Yanis earned the sudden victory by a score of 4-2. Marking the second non-forfeit victory on the day for the Golden Eagles.
 
Brockport would fall 26-15 to #20 RIT, as the squad is now 6-5 on the year in dual competition.
 
Next Up: Following this weekend, the Golden Eagles will look ahead to NCAA regionals in Ithaca, NY on February 24^th at 11 am and February 25^th at 10 am.
