Brockport, NY – The Golden Eagle softball team split the set with Oswego on Saturday at home. The Lakers took game one, 6-0, and Brockport bounced back, 8-3, in the second.
Game 1
Annie Dipirro continues a great weekend going 2-for-3 at the plate.
Amanda Blakely and
Caitlyn Dailey both were 1-for-2 in the game, both rattling off a double.
Fiona Gibiser struck out three and allowed four earned in a seven inning outing.
After a scoreless inning in the first, Oswego got on the board with a single run in the second. A two-run home run in the fourth put the visiting Lakers up 3-0. They added three more runs down the stretch to secure the 6-0 win.
Game 2
Kellie Gentile went 3-for-4 with a double and one run scored.
Jenna Downey launched the second home run of her career, going 1-for-3 with two RBIs. Jackie Dutot scored two runs and went 2-for-3 at the plate.
Annie Dipirro added two RBIs batting 1-for-3.
Emma DeJesus hit a double and came in to score one run.
Caitlyn Dailey and
Hannah Jacobs both connected for hits as well.
Roseland Stroh picked up her third win of the season in a seven-inning effort. She allowed just three hits and two earned with three strikeouts.
Oswego struck first in this one with three unanswered runs through the top of the fourth. Dipirro brought two runs in to score in the bottom of four to make it a 3-2 game. Downey's two-run homer gave the Green and Gold a one run lead in the fifth.
The Golden Eagles added three more runs in the fifth. This included RBIs from
Danielle Wenzek and
Hannah Jacobs. They added a final run in the sixth to put the game away, 8-3.
Brockport now prepares for a step out of conference play against Medaille on Thursday, April 27
th. The doubleheader is set for a 3pm start.
