Rochester, NY – The SUNY Brockport Baseball team fell, 7-2, on the road this afternoon against the Tigers at the RIT Baseball Complex.
Adam Douglas started on the mound for the Green and Gold, pitching four innings. He let up five hits, five runs and two walks. Douglas struck out three batters but was ultimately given the loss in the game.
RIT scored its first run in the bottom of the first. The Tigers scored three more runs in the bottom of the third. They scored their fifth run in the bottom of the fourth, holding a 5-0 lead over Brockport.
In the top of the fifth inning
Nick Mahar hit a single through the left side but was left on base. Brockport scored its only two runs of the game in the top of the sixth inning.
Justin Pangburn singled to center field.
Nicholas Pastore reached first on a throwing error by the second basemen, and Pangburn advanced to third.
Zach Eldred hit a single to left field and brought home Pangburn, putting Pastore on third.
Patrick Bigham grounded into a double play but brought Pastore home for the second run of the game.
Rochester scored the final two runs in the bottom of the sixth for the final score of 7-2.
Nick Ianiello pitched 2.0 innings. He let up two runs, two hits and two walks. He struck out five batters.
Angelo Agro also pitched 2.0 innings this afternoon, letting up two hits, one walk and striking out two batters.
Brockport will be home at Clark V. Whited for Senior Day on Saturday, April 29
th. Senior day festivities will start at 11:30am!
