Brockport, NY – The SUNY Brockport Ice Hockey team will host the Fredonia State Blue Devils this Tuesday in a non-conference match up at 7PM. The Men will be wearing special edition jerseys in Honor of Willie Bee. Jerseys will be available for auction beginning Tuesday, January 9
th at 7:30PM and run until Friday January 19
th at noon.
Willie Bee Foundation Night, Jersey Auction: The SUNY Brockport men's ice hockey team will host their second annual Willie Bee Foundation Jersey Night on Tuesday, January 9th against Fredonia State at 7PM. The Golden Eagles will wear special edition uniforms as a tribute to the Willie Bee Foundation. The game worn jerseys will be available for purchase via silent auction from January 9
th at 8:00PM through Friday, January 19
th until 12:00PM (EASTERN).
The Willie Bee Foundation is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit charitable organization founded in August of 2017 to benefit local families who have a child facing a life-threatening illness. The Willie Bee Foundation was founded in memory of Will, who lost his life after a courageous battle with AT/RT, an aggressive brain tumor just a few weeks shy of his second birthday. "We look to ease the burden that families who have a child with a life-threatening illness face, we have realized that how we ease that burden looks different for every family we have the honor and privilege of doing something for. We listen to our families and assist where they can benefit most. We also aim to help families make memories."
The bidding on all 26 players uniforms will start at $50 with proceeds to benefit The Willie Bee Foundation. Bidding should be done in a minimum $5 increments. You can place a bid by emailing Head Coach

Weekend Recap: The SUNY Brockport hockey team tied SUNY Canton Friday on the road, 4-4.
Canton struck first scoring at 18:22 in the first period. The rest of the first remained scoreless, sending the Golden Eagles into the second trailing 1-0.
Canton added to the lead in the second period with a goal at 6:11, taking a 2-0 lead.
Michael Meredith answered the call with his fourth goal of the season, making it a 2-1 score. Meredith scored at 11:37 in the second, assisted by
Josh Grund and
Jordan Rosenbaum.
Grund added another point to the board shortly after, scoring his fourth goal of the season assisted by Meredith and
Dominic Chirico. This goal would tie the game up at 2-2 late in the second. Canton snuck one into the net with 2.0 seconds left on the board, sending the Golden Eagles into the final period of regulation down 3-2.
The Kangaroo's scored just 38 seconds into the third period to take a 4-2 lead. Brockport's
Matt Anastasio scored the crew's third goal at 17:57 into the third, assisted by
Spencer Flansburg and
Connor Galloway. With only 12 seconds left in regulation,
Chase Maxwell tied up the score at 4-4 to send the game to overtime. Maxwell was assisted by Anastasio and Grund on the play.
After 5 minutes of a scoreless three-on-three overtime period, both teams add a tie to their overall record.
Trevor Joule had his first career start between the pipes, playing 65:00 minutes on the ice. Joule let up four goals and made 28 saves in the game.
The SUNY Brockport hockey team fell to SUNY Canton Saturday evening, 4-3. Brockport is now 5-9-2 overall on the season and remains 3-5 in conference play after last weekend.
Canton drew first blood for the second night in a row, scoring at 5:46 into the first period to take an early 1-0 lead.
Jack Powers answered with his first collegiate goal, tying the game up at 1-1.
Michael Meredith earned his fourth assist of the season (8
th point) on Powers' goal.
Nick Serafinpicked up the second assist on Brockport's first goal at 11:19 into the first. The score would remained tied at 1-1 to end the first.
Andrew Harley scored the Golden Eagles second goal of the night at 11:43 into the second period unassisted, putting Brockport up 2-1. Harley poked the puck free in the defensive zone and scored on the breakaway opportunity. Canton snuck one in at 13:55, sending both teams into the third tied at 2-2.
Now in the third period, Canton would break the tie with a goal at 5:10 to take a 3-2 edge.
Josh Grund scored his fifth goal of the season (11
thpoint) at 10:44 into the third to tie the game once again. Grund was assisted by
Jacob Gates and Harley. At 14:33 in to the third, the visiting Roos scored the final goal of the game to grab the 4-3 win.
Dylan Wiemer spent 59:04 minutes on the ice tonight, making 30 saves and allowing 4 goals. Brockport pulled Wiemer late for a sixth skater, but the team was unable to find the equalizer.
Looking at the Blue Devils: Fredonia State is 3-9 heading into Tuesday's Non-Conference match up. The Blue Devils have recorded a total of 23 goals and 338 shots so far this season. They average 1.9 goals a game and 28.2 shots. Fredonia is 2 for 33 on the power play and 35 for 44 on the penalty kill. Their leading goal scorer is #18 Antoine St. Onge with five goals, following him is #13 Baxter Kimball and #24 David Sudbrink both with three goals and two assists.
In between the pipes for the Golden Eagles are #1 Charles-Anthony Barbeau and #31 Logan Dyck. Barbeau has played 419:50 minutes on the ice allowing 23 goals and making 255 saves. He has a save percentage of .917% and averages giving up 3.29 goals a game. Dyck has seen 298:17 minutes on this ice this season making 156 saves and giving up 16 goals. Dyck has a save percentage if .907% and averages giving up 3.22 goals a game.
Following Tuesday's game, Brockport will have the weekend off before hosting SUNY Geneseo Friday January 19
th at 7pm in the Wegmans Ice Arena.
