Brockport, NY: The Brockport hockey team will open the 2024-25 season at the Buffalo State Bengals Classic between Friday, November 1^st, and Saturday, November 2^nd. The Golden Eagles will open the season against Saint Anselm College on Friday at 2 pm before taking on either Buffalo State or Misericordia on Saturday.
 
Exhibition Play: Brockport went 2-0 in exhibition play, most recently downing Morrisville 5-2 on home ice last Saturday.
 
Freshmen Joseph Nikac (1G, 1A) and Livio Azevedo both tallied goals against the Mustangs.
 
Manny Sanchez scored the opening goal and assisted in the 2^nd goal for two points on the day.
 
Cole Hudson totaled 14 saves and just one goal allowed in 29:38 of game time for the Green and Gold.
 
Dax Easter would close out the win, making seven stops with just one goal allowed across 30 minutes of action.
 
UCHC Preseason Poll: The UCHC released its Men's Ice Hockey Preseason Coaches Poll, as voted on by coaches throughout the conference. The Golden Eagles finished in a tie for 4^th with Manhattanville with 11 points, behind Nazareth (14 points), Geneseo (21 points), and Utica (25 points).
 
Players to Watch: The trio of juniors Josh Grund, Chase Maxwell, and Manny Sanchez will enter the 2024-25 season looking to build off their success in 2023-24. Across two years at Brockport, Josh Grund has posted 30 points, including 15 points in 2023-24 (6G, 9A). Chase Maxwell returns as Brockport's top scorer from 2023-24. He posted 16 points on seven goals and nine assists. Manny Sanchez was another key contributor from last season, posting totals of four goals and eight assists for 12 points.
 
Scouting Saint Anselm: The Hawks finished the 2023-24 season 10-18-2 overall, posting a 7-11-2 record in the Division 2 NE10 conference. Saint Anselm went 1-1 in exhibition play, most recently defeating Albertus Magnus 3-1 last Friday.
