Purchase, NY - The Brockport hockey team came up short in its UCHC opener at Manhattanville, falling 5-4 on Friday, November 8
th. The Golden Eagles fell to 0-1-2 on the season following the loss.

The Brockport powerplay stayed hot throughout, with
Josh Grund netting the game-opening goal at the 7:13 mark on the man advantage.

Manhattanville would get the last laugh in the opening period, scoring two goals in 22 seconds to take a 2-1 lead into the second period.

The Golden Eagle man advantage would strike again in the second period, with
Chase Maxwell finding paydirt to tie the contest up at 2-2 at 5:23 in the second.

Much like the first period, Manhattanville would net the next two goals of the period to enter the third period up 4-2.

After tacking on another goal to go up 5-2, the Golden Eagles would fight back.
Dominic Chirico and
Jacob Gates connected for goals 18 seconds apart to bring Brockport within one goal with 5:06 left in the contest.

Despite two late chances from
Spencer Flansburg, the Golden Eagles could not find the tying goal, falling 5-4 on the road.

Jacob Gates (1G, 1A) and
Spencer Flansburg (2A) posted two points for the Green and Gold.

Cole Hudson started between the pipes for Brockport, making 22 saves on the night.
