Brockport, NY – The Golden Eagle wrestling team is set to travel to Oswego State to take on the Lakers on Saturday, November 9th for a 1pm start.

Last Week Recap – Last Saturday, the Golden Eagles traveled down to Messiah University where they competed in the Messiah Invitational. The squad competed against Messiah, Washington and Lee, Ursinus, Elizabethtown, McDaniel, Liberty, Johns Hopkins, and Wheaton where they took sixth place finishing with 86.5 points out of the nine teams.
Gavin McLaughlin had a day finishing third in the 174 lb division, good for 18 points for the Green and Gold after facing wrestlers from Johns Hopkins, Messiah, and McDaniel.
Placing fourth in the 133lb division was Matthew Reehil, scoring 15 points for Brockport all while facing guys from Elizabethtown, Messiah, and Ursinus.
Kiam Coleman took on competitors from Liberty, Messiah, and Johns Hopkins where he earned 14.5 points after placing fifth in the 174lb division.
Jaden Friel scored 13.5 points for the team in the 141 division while also placing fifth. Friel faced wrestlers from Ursinus, Messiah, and Johns Hopkins.
Earning 12 points for Brockport in the 125lb division and placing fifth was
Liam Bullock where he took on foes from Ursinus, Washington and Lee, and Messiah.
E8 Wrestler of the Week – On Monday,
Gavin McLaughlin was named the Empire 8 Men's Wrestler of the week after scoring 18 points for the Golden Eagles placing third in the 174 division.
Scouting Oswego – Last weekend, the Lakers placed 9th at the Ithaca College Invitational with 56 points. Oswego competed against Castleton, Johnson & Wales, Ithaca, PA College of Technology, Springfield, American International, Alfred State, Norwich, Greensboro, and Elmira College.
A Week Off – Coming up next, the Green and Gold with take a week off and will continue their season on the road to SUNY Oneonta for the New York State Collegiate Championships on Saturday, November 23rd for a 9am start.
