Brockport, NY – On Saturday the Brockport swim and dive teams hosted Oswego State for a dual meet at the James B. Fulton Natatorium. The women's team defeated the Lakers, 168-128, and the men's team lost a close battle, 147-144.
The meet began with Brockport's women winning the 200-yard medley relay.
Hannah Ramos,
Addy Martino, Madeline Erhardt, and
Elizabeth Sagan took first place with their time of 1:54.78.
On the men's side of the 200 medley relay the crew of Luca Olivieri, Sean Feeney, Erik Parkes, and Garrett Nanna placed second with a time of 1:42.42.
Jace Fredericksen placed first in the men's 1,000 freestyle race with a time of 11:20.19. In the men's 500-yard freestyle, Jace took first again with a time of 5:13.39.
Elizabeth Sagan came back on her own to win the women's 200-yard freestyle with her swim of 2:00.85. In the 100 freestyle she swam a 54.99 to take first place once again.
In the men's 200 freestyle, it was Erik Parkes' time of 1:51.41 that took first place. Parkes took first once again with a 54.86 in the 100-yard butterfly. Michael Laviani was third in the 200 freestyle event with a 1:54.42.
Hannah Ramos placed first in the women's 50 backstroke, clocking in at 31.08. Luca Olivieri did the same on the men's side with his time of 26.58.
Moving to the women's 50-yard breaststroke, it was
Addy Martino's time of 33.47 that snagged first place. In the 100-butterfly, Madeline Erdhardt swam a 1:03.99 to place first.
Sarah Kilburn swam a 25.54 in the 50-yard freestyle for the top spot on the day. She also won the 50-yard butterfly with her time of 27.55. Joe Keeney took first in the men's 50-yard butterfly with his 25.19.
On the diving boards, Brockport saw a few more event winners.
Emma Conner took first place in the women's 1-meter diving competition with a score of 227.65. Then with a 216.45 on the 3-meter board, Conner placed first once again.
Ren Watson claimed the top spot on both boards as well. Ren scored a 249.95 on the 1-meter board and posted a 258.20 for first on the 3-meter board.
Miya Vitale came away with a first place showing in the 100-yard backstroke thanks to her time of 1:04.35.
The women's 100-yard IM was won by Brockport's
Sarah Kilburn, who swam a 1:04.14 at the meet.
To close the dual meet, both teams lined up for the 200-yard freestyle relays.
On the women's side of the action, Brockport took first place. It was
Elizabeth Sagan, Madeline Erhardt,
Sarah Colwell, and
Sarah Kilburn swimming a 1:43.19.
The men's group of Will Mergl, Garrett Nanna, Joe Keeney, and Erik Parkes also took first with a time of 1:30.67.
The Golden Eagles are back in action following the holiday break, for a trip to Nazareth (1pm) on Saturday, January 4
th.
