Brockport, NY – On Friday night the Golden Eagle ice hockey team will face Morrisville on the road, hoping to clinch a spot in the postseason. The regular season finale is scheduled to begin at 5pm.
 
Last Time Out: The SUNY Brockport ice hockey team defeated Fredonia State, 4-2, on Saturday night in Fredonia. Brockport earned two big points towards the conference standings and now sits 7-13-4 overall and 4-9-2 in the SUNYAC.
 
Rookie of the Week: SUNY Brockport's 
Spencer Flansburg was recognized as the SUNYAC Men's Ice Hockey Rookie of the Week following his performance this past weekend.
 
Flansburg was a big part of the Golden Eagle offense this weekend earning himself another three points. Flansburg scored his first goal of the weekend against Buffalo State, ending the game +1 and recording two shots.
 
The following night Flansburg scored the game-winning goal, had one assist, ended the night +2, and recorded three shots. Flansburg ends the weekend +3 with three points to give him 10 points on the season.
 
Spreading the Love: In the lastest win against Fredonia, eight different Golden Eagles registerd a point.

Nick Serafin all found the back of the net. 
Tobin Winslow, 
Andrew Harley, 
Dominic Chirico, and 
Victor Malzahn each had an assist.
 
SUNYAC Standings: With just two spot still available in the upcoming SUNYAC Tournament, Brockport is currently in at fifth in the conference with 11 points. Seeds 1-4 have already been clinched with Geneseo claiming the top seed for the postseason. Here is the full listing of the conference standings ahead of Friday's slate of games:

Looking at Morrisville:The Mustangs enter the weekend 5-18-1 overall and 2-12-1 in the SUNYAC, already eliminated from postseason contention. The team most recently fell to conference rival Geneseo, 7-2, at home. When Brockport hosted Morrisivlle back in early December, the Green and Gold dominated at home, 8-2.

Ben Saurbaugh scored two goals, while 
Dylan Wiemer made 34 saves in net.
 
Regular Season Finale: Saturday's game is the final game of the regular season for the Golden Eagles. They have the chance to earn a spot in the upcoming SUNYAC Tournament, which is scheduled to begin round one play on Wednesday, February 21
st.
