Brockport, NY – The Wrestling team is set to host the Utica University Pioneers and Niagara County Community College for their home opener debut on Saturday, January 11th at the Vlog. The Golden Eagles will face Utica at 11am and NCCC at 3pm. Utica and the Thunder Wolves will compete against each other at 1pm.

Last Meet Recap – On December 14
th, the team traveled to Alfred State where they competed against both Alfred and Pitt-Bradford where they posted two dual wins of 27-19 (Alfred) and 45-5 (Pitt-Bradford).
Vs. Alfred State
In the 285lb round,
Nick Franco picked up 6 points over Luke Daniels of Alfred after a win by fall just 0:52 into the round.
Max Morrison (157) also earned 6 points in his matchup against Owen Cummings. Morrison won by fall 2:50 into the round.
At 184,
Kiam Coleman snagged 5 points for the team against Chris Herriman with a technical fall of 17-1 and at 4:18.
Marquis Larmond won by a major decision of 11-1 over Benjamin Rivera in the 165lb match and earned 4 points for the Green and Gold.
Picking up 3 points for the team total was
Alex Smith (149) over Jayden Norris by a 12-5 decision.
Lastly, earning 3 more points for the team at 197 was
Simon Lingle winning after a 12-5 decision over Aaron Johnson.
Vs. Pitt-Bradford
Liam Bullock handled business in the 125lb division, defeating Cael Dailey by pinfall in 2:07.
In the 133lb division,
Jonathan Guyette scored a fall win of his own, defeating Joe Magnano of Pitt-Bradford in 5:15.
Jaden Friel picked up a technical fall win at 141 lbs, defeating Dylan Slovick for five points.
At 149lbs,
Spencer Maja scored a tight 8-7 decision win over Nikolas Fegert, securing three team points.
Max Morrison posted a strong performance at 157lbs, winning by technical fall in 3:19 over Raymond Worsen.
Marquis Larmond did much of the same in the 165lb division, scoring five points with a technical fall win (5:38).
Simon Lingle made quick work of his opponent at 197lb, defeating Alec Kapacs by fall in 24 seconds.
Closing out the matchup,
Nick Franco earned himself a decision win over Gavin Thompson at 285lb (8-1).
A Look at Utica – The Pioneers currently sit at 6-0 overall on the 2024-25 season and finished up in 17th place at the NYS Collegiate Championships held in Oneonta.
Looking at NCCC – The Thunder Wolves took a win back in November against Muskegon Community College and went on to place 9
th at the NYS Collegiate Championships. Brockport took the 36-14 win in their previous matchup against NCCC back in 2023.
