Brockport, NY—The Brockport hockey team will travel for a pair of non-conference matchups. The Golden Eagles will take on Fredonia on Friday, January 10
th, at 7 p.m. and Elmira on Saturday, January 11
th, at 4 p.m.
Last Outing: The Golden Eagles picked up their first UCHC win at Nazareth, 4-3, on Saturday, December 7
th. Brockport improved to 1-7-2 overall with a 1-7 mark in UCHC contests.
Jordan Rosenbaum,
Nick Serafin,
Spencer Flansburg, and
Schuyler Flansburg all notched goals in the contest.
Sacha Trudel was excellent in the faceoff circle, winning nine of 13 draws.
Chase Maxwell did much of the same, winning seven of his 12 faceoff opportunities.
Jacob Gates came through in crunch time, assisting on Flansburg's overtime winner.
Dax Easter picked up the win in a strong effort, saving 35 shots and allowing just three goals.
Leading the Pack: Ten games into the season,
Mitchell Haight has proven to be a key addition to the 2024-25 squad. In addition to a goal and an assist on the season, Haight leads the Green and Gold in +/- (+1) and blocked shots (7).
Freshman Contributors: Multiple Golden Eagle freshmen have played key roles to begin the 2024-25 season.
Aidan Taylor has started strong for Brockport, posting a team-high three assists with a goal for four points in just seven games.
Sacha Trudel (10GP, 2A),
Kaleb Miller (1G, 2A), and
Joseph Nikac (8GP,2A) have all recorded two points or better in their first season with Brockport.
Scouting Fredonia: The Blue Devils sit at 5-8 overall with a 3-3 mark in conference play, most recently defeating Potsdam 2-0 on December 7
th. The Golden Eagles have won the last two head-to-head matchups, including five of the previous eight.
Scouting Elmira: The Soaring Eagles hold a 6-3-2 record with a 5-2-1 in NEHC play, defeating Potsdam 4-2 on Tuesday. Elmira has gotten the best of Brockport in the head-to-head series, winning four of the last five matchups.
