Brockport, NY – On Friday night, the SUNY Brockport swim and dive program hosted Geneseo for some dual meet action. The Geneseo Knights took wins on both sides of the pool, with final scores of 232-62 (men's final) and 197-103 (women's final).
Brockport's first event win of the night came in the women's 200-yard medley relay. The team of
Lauryn Ball,
Addy Martino,
Maddie Erhardt, and
Anna Lowe swam the winning time of 1:52.44.
In the women's 200 freestyle,
Nicole Orcutt continued her strong start to the year with a first-place time of 1:59.46. Winning another solo event, she swam a 54.70 for first place in the women's 100 freestyle.
Anna Lowe went on to grab first in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 24.86. Teammate
Maddie Erhardt was close behind at 25.39 for second place in the event.
Erhardt claimed first place with a time of 1:00.51 in the 100-yard butterfly.
Nicole Orcutt took third in the event with her time of 1:01.50.
On the diving board, Brenden Jardin-Reed took second on the 1-meter board with his score of 269.80. He would go on to take third with a 243.30 on the 3-meter board.
In the men's 200-yard breaststroke, clocking in at 2:19.62 was good for third place for Liam Farrell.
Alex Nicita placed second individually in the men's 1,000 freestyle with a time of 10:22.10. He came back in the 500 freestyle with a first-place time of 5:00.25.
In the 100-yard breaststroke,
Addy Martino (1:12.05) and
Lindsey Spitz (1:15.10) placed second and third respectively. The Golden Eagles saw Erik Parkes (2:04.35) and Drew Wekar (2:11.41) do the same in the men's 200-yard butterfly.
Addy Martino clocked in at 2:36.89 for second place in the women's 200-yard breaststroke.
With a time of 5:41.15,
Sarah Colwell claimed third place in the women's 500-yard freestyle.
In the men's 100-yard butterfly, Erik Parkes placed second at 54.69 in an incredibly tight race (0.04 behind 1
st place).
Wrapping up the meet, the Brockport women's 200-yard freestyle relay squad placed second. The squad of
Anna Lowe,
Maddie Erhardt,
Varshana Ramgulam, and
Nicole Orcutt finished in 1:39.80.
The women's team moves to 1-1 in dual competition this season, while the Brockport men drop to 0-2.
The Golden Eagles will be back at the James B. Fulton Natatorium next weekend on November 8
th for the Brockport Intrasquad and Alumni Meet at 10am.
