BROCKPORT, NY - The #2-seeded Brockport Men's Soccer team rolled to a 4-0 win over Russell Sage on Saturday, November 1st. The Golden Eagles have advanced to the Empire 8 semifinals for back-to-back years since joining the conference in 2024.
The Golden Eagles dictated the pace in the opening half, outshooting the Gators 12-4 across the first 45 minutes. With less than four minutes left in the first half,
Brady Reinagel found
Khadim Amar for the game's opening goal, sending Brockport into halftime up 1-0.
The Brockport offensive attack would record its best half of the season, netting three goals in the second half. In the 68th minute,
Ryan Mathis capitalized on a Russell Sage miscue, scoring on a penalty kick to double the Brockport lead to 2-0.
Brady Reinagel would build on his excellent outing in the 72nd minute, scoring on a feed from
Alex Rivara to put the Green and Gold ahead 3-0.
With firm control of the contest,
Jadin Lyle would put the cherry on top of an excellent outing by the Golden Eagles. Lyle would connect for Brockport's fourth and final goal at the 87:03 mark.
AJ Nelson picked up another win for the Golden Eagles, making three saves in a shutout effort. Nelson has recorded seven clean sheets this season and has allowed just one goal in his last 540 minutes between the pipes.
Jadin Lyle,
Khadim Amar, and
Trevor Lagarde all led Brockport with three shots each.
Brady Reinagel provided an excellent postseason performance, racking up three points with a goal and an assist.
