Swim & Dive Bounces Back at Home Against Hartwick

Brockport, NY – The Golden Eagles picked up wins for both the men and women against Hartwick in their home pool at the James B. Fulton Natatorium on Saturday. The women won by a score of 193-101 and the men earned a final score of 193-105.
 
The men's team picks up its first dual win of the year, moving to 1-3 in dual action. Meanwhile, the women even up at .500 with a 2-2 record in dual meets so far this season. Here is a look at the top finishers from Saturday's meet against the Hawks.
 
Matthew Cole, Anthony O'Leary, Joe Keeney, and Erik Parkes swam a 1:40.15 to start the meet out with a first-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay.
 
With a time of 1:52.27, the women's team followed suit with first place in the 200 medley relay. Brockport's winning group was Hannah Ramos, Addy Martino, Maddie Erhardt, and Anna Lowe.
 
Alex Nicita clocked in at 10:36.66 for second place in the men's 1,000 freestyle event. He also swam a 1:49.81 for second in the 200 freestyle race.
 
Nicole Orcutt took second for the women in the 1,000 freestyle event, finishing at 11:27.17. She came back to grab first in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:00.70, with Ramos placing second at 2:04.77.
 
Jace Fredericksen (57.28), RJ Krupski (57.92), and Matthew Cole (59.09) took 1st-3rd in the men's 100 backstroke.
 
In the women's 100 backstroke it was Anna Lowe taking the win with a 1:02.37. Teammate Lauryn Ball was second with a time of 1:04.01.
 
Liam Farrell swam a 1:01.68 and Anthony O'Leary had a 1:02.43 for first and second respectively in the men's 100 breaststroke.
 
Addy Martino took second for Brockport in the women's 100 breaststroke, clocking in at 1:10.53.
 
Swimming a time of 2:01.91, Erik Parkes claimed first in the men's 200-yard butterfly. Varshana Ramgulam did the same for the women's 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:21.50.
 
Brockport snagged 1st-3rd again in the men's 50 freestyle thanks to Joe Keeney (22.52), Zander Benz (22.68), and Garrett Nanna (23.00).
 
In the women's 50 freestyle, freshman Anna Lowe took the win with her finish of 25.20.
 
On the diving board, Brenden Jardin-Reed scored a 285.15 on the 1-meter and a 309.00 on the 3-meter for first place on both boards. With a 214.30, Brylee Weisenburg took first on the 3-meter board for the women. She did it again with a score of 220.25 on the 1-meter.
 
Zander Benz snagged second place with a time of 50.51 in the men's 100-yard freestyle. On the women's side of the event, Maddie Erhardt took first with her time of 55.56.
 
The men claimed the top three spots again in the 200-yard backstroke. This time it was on the efforts of RJ Krupski (2:06.43), Conner Berger (2:09.70), and Matthew Cole (2:11.40).
 
Lauryn Ball earned another event win with a 2:17.21 finish in the women's 200-yard backstroke.
 
Brockport saw Anthony O'Leary (2:19.52) and Liam Farrell (2:20.14) take the top two spots in the men's 200 breaststroke.
 
A time of 2:32.26 was good for Addy Martino's second-place finish in the women's 200-yard breaststroke.
 
Back in action for the 500 freestyle, Alex Nicita took second again with his time of 5:03.12. Nicole Orcutt was able to get a win in the women's 500 freestyle, swimming a 5:25.65.
 
In the men's 100 butterfly, Erik Parkes earned a second-place time of 53.68.
 
The women's team claimed first through third in the 100 butterfly. Maddie Erhardt took first (1:01.33), with Varshana Ramgulam (1:02.12) and Skylar King (1:05.86) right behind.
 
The Golden Eagles saw Anthony O'Leary win the men's 200-yard IM, finishing at 2:04.87. Varshana Ramgulam did the same on the women's side of the action with a 2:19.03.
 
To finish out the meet strong, Brockport took first/second in both the men's and women's 200 freestyle relay events.
 
Joe Keeney, Zander Benz, Garrett Nanna, and Erik Parkes took first with a 1:29.41. They were followed by a 1:30.69 time swam by Jack Olsian, Patrick Power, Conner Berger, and Carter Lundin.
 
The women's winning relay squad of Anna Lowe, Maddie Erhardt, Sarah Colwell, and Nicole Orcutt clocked in at 1:41.84. Teammates Leah Allen-Comella, Lauryn Ball, Addy Martino, and Elvira Castro-Martin took second at 1:46.58.
 
The Golden Eagles now begin preparing for the Blue Devil Invite, the annual mid-season championship style meet next weekend. The meet begins on Friday, November 21st and runs through Sunday the 22nd.
