BROCKPORT, NY - The #2-seeded Brockport Men's Soccer team will travel to top-seeded SUNY Geneseo for the Empire 8 Championship on Saturday, November 8th at 3 PM.
E8 Semifinals: The Golden Eagles advanced to the Empire 8 Championship with a 3-1 victory over Elmira in the Empire 8 Semifinals on Wednesday, November 5th. The victory secured Brockport's 11th win of the season, the most in a single season since 2018 (16).
Ryan Mathis kick-started the Brockport offense, netting the squad's first two goals.
Brady Reinagel provided assists on both Mathis ' goals.Â
With less than 11 minutes remaining,
Jadin Lyle secured the insurance goal, giving Brockport the 3-1 victory.Â
AJ Nelson played the full game in net for the Golden Eagles, making three saves and picking up the win in the E8 Semifinals.Â
What's At Stake: With a win at Geneseo, head coach
Gary LaPietra would earn his third conference crown at Brockport and his seventh appearance in the NCAA Division III Tournament, the first since 2018. LaPietra has guided the Golden Eagles to the second round of the NCAA Tournament in 2005, 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2018.
Postseason Dominance: Earning the #2-seed entering the Empire 8 Tournament, the Golden Eagles have made the most of their home turf advantage in the quarterfinal and semifinal rounds. Brockport outscored its opponents 7-1 in postseason action, dismantling Russell Sage 4-0 in the opening round.

Scouting Geneseo: The #1-seeded Knights held off #5-seeded Utica in PKs (5-4, T, 1-1) to advance to the Empire 8 Championship on Wednesday. The Golden Eagles handed Geneseo their lone loss in conference play, defeating the Knights on the road, 1-0, to close out the regular season. Brockport is looking to extend its unbeaten streak against the Knights to six straight games.
