Brockport, NY- The Brockport ice hockey team will head to Rochester to take on Nazareth on Friday, February 14
th, at 7 pm before hosting Nazareth for Senior Day on Saturday, February 15
th, at 4 p.m.
Last Outing: The Golden Eagles fell on the road to Geneseo, 5-2, on Saturday, February 8
th. The Golden Eagles fell to 4-15-2 overall and 2-14 in UCHC play.
Joseph Nikac led all Golden Eagles on the day with two points, chipping in with two assists.
Mitchell Haight and
Ben Saurbaugh each lit the lamp for Brockport, providing a goal each.
David Filak left it all on the ice, making 44 saves in a strong effort.
Senior Day: On Saturday, Brockport will recognize seniors
Jordan Rosenbaum and
Jacob Rodrigue and their contributions to the Brockport hockey program.
Across his four seasons as a Golden Eagle,
Jordan Rosenbaum has served as the backbone of the Brockport defense, appearing in 59 games. Rosenbaum has racked up 17 points from the defenseman spot from three goals and 14 assists.
Much like Rosenbaum,
Jacob Rodrigue has cemented himself as a staple of the Brockport defense in his four years in the Green and Gold. Across 77 appearances, Rodrigue has racked up 21 points from three goals and 18 assists.
Rookie of the Week: Following strong outings against Geneseo,
Joseph Nikac was named UCHC Rookie of the Week. The freshman from Ontario paced the Brockport offense with back-to-back multi-point efforts. On Friday, Nikac tallied two points from a goal and an assist, leading all Brockport skaters. Against Geneseo, Nikac tallied two points from two assists, leading all Golden Eagles.
Scouting Nazareth: The Golden Flyers sit at 6-13-2 on the season, holding a 2-12-2 mark in UCHC contests. Nazareth will enter the weekend on a nine-game slide, splitting its last two outings against the Golden Eagles. The Golden Flyers hold ranked wins over Hamilton College (4-2), Cortland (5-4), and Elmira (2-1).
