BROCKPORT, N.Y. - The Brockport men's soccer team has officially clinched a spot in the 2026 Empire 8 Tournament following an impressive start to conference play. Currently holding the sixth seed with two regular-season matches remaining, the Golden Eagles have secured their place in the postseason and still have an opportunity to climb the conference standings.
Brockport's postseason berth is fueled by a dominant 3-0 start to Empire 8 competition, as the Golden Eagles went unbeaten through their first six conference matchups, posting a 5-0-1 record during that stretch. Brockport will join Geneseo, Utica, St. John Fisher, Alfred, and Nazareth in the tournament field, with two postseason spots still up for grabs.
Despite a recent three-match skid, the Golden Eagles remain in contention for the No. 1 seed with two conference games left on the schedule. Brockport holds a head-to-head tiebreaker over current top-seed SUNY Geneseo after earning a victory over the Knights at home on September 23. The postseason berth also extends an impressive streak for the Golden Eagles, who have qualified for the Empire 8 Tournament in each of their three seasons in the conference since joining in 2024.
Holding a 5-3-1 record in Empire 8 play, Brockport will look to get back on track and build momentum heading into the postseason. The Golden Eagles will travel to St. John Fisher on Wednesday, October 21, for a 7 p.m. matchup before returning home to host Houghton for the Pink Out the Pitch regular-season finale on Saturday, October 24, at 1 p.m.
