Brockport, NY – The wrestling team made the short trip to Rochester, where they fell 35-7 to the St. John Fisher Cardinals in a hard-fought dual.
Freshman
Trevor Middendorf started the meet on a high note at 125 lbs, securing a 13-2 major decision victory to put Brockport on the board.
Derek Bernardino of St. John Fisher took the 22-6 tech fall win at 133 lbs over
Cael Stewart.
The Cardinals' Luke Yorke (141) walked away with a pin at 1:48 into the matchup against Makhare Rogers.
At 149 lbs, Trevor Bishop of St. John Fisher earned team points with a tech fall win over
Jaden Friel.
Paul Lichter from Fisher and
Tyler Rossini battled it out in the 157lb division, where Rossini came up just short of the 8-6 decision.
Max Morrison fought hard at 165 lbs until St. John Fisher's Trevor Sheehan finished the match with a pin at 4:39.
Gavin McLaughlin also put up a fight at 174, close to securing the win, until Jeremy Devine finished on top with the 13-9 decision.
At 184 lbs, Fisher's Charlie Rossner took the 10-3 decision victory over Brockport's
Brody Fry.
Simon Lingle finished out the day at 197 lbs, taking the 10-2 major decision loss against Braydon Vandenberg.
Mike Welsh earned himself a 4-1 decision victory to finish out the meet at 258, earning the final points of the day for the Golden Eagles.
Senior Night – On Tuesday, February 7
th, the Green and Gold are set to play host to Cortland State as they celebrate their seniors at 7 pm in The Vlog.
