Fredonia, NY – On Saturday the Golden Eagles defeated the Blue Devils of Fredonia on the road in a dual meet. The men's team picked up the victory, 174-31, and the women followed suit, 171-43.
Brockport conquered the waters out in Fredonia in an impressive overall team performance, taking first place in 25 of the 26 events at the meet.
With a time of 1:43.03, the group of Jace Fredericksen, Liam Farrell, George Weir, and Zander Benz took first in the men's 200-yard medley relay.
It would be
Hannah Ramos,
Addy Martino,
Camille Bohli, and
Lydia Lapierre to get the win in the women's 200-yard medley relay. They would clock in at 2:01.79.
Next the Golden Eagles saw winners in the 1,000-yard freestyle races. Alex Nicita won the men's heat with a 10:47.77. On the women's side of the action it was
Skylar King's time of 12:15.43 that earned the win.
Erik Parkes swam a time of 1:50.37 to take first place in the men's 200-yard freestyle.
Anna Lowe followed suit for the women in the 200-yard freestyle with her time of 2:06.53.
Carter Lundin entered the winner's circle after a fast 23.30 in the 50-yard freestyle. In the women's 50-yard freestyle,
Maddie Erhardt swam a first-place time of 25.88.
Moving over to the 400-yard individual medley events. Brockport saw another pair of winners on both sides of the pool. RJ Krupski swam a 4:37.86, while
Lindsey Spitz clocked in at 5:28.41.
The men's diving competition, Brenden Jardin-Reed posted a 307.73 on the 1-meter and a 301.35 on the 3-meter. He earned first place in both events.
Ashley Oswald snagged a first-place finish in the women's 1-meter diving event, earning a 249.45. With a 217.65, she also placed second on the 3-meter board.
In a crazy finish in the men's 100-yard butterfly, Brockport saw Joe Keeney and Carter Lundin both finish at 57.10 for first place. In the women's 100-yard butterfly,
Hannah Ramos took the win at 1:07.29.
Continuing the trend of first-place finishes for the Golden Eagles, George Weir won the men's 100-yard freestyle with a 52.32.
Anna Lowe earned another win in the women's 100-yard freestyle with a time of 56.27.
Beating his own teammate (C. Berger) by just .05, Jace Fredericksen won the men's 100-yard backstroke with a time of 58.88.
Maddie Erhardt finished in 1:07.90 for first place in the women's 100-yard backstroke.
With a time of 5:25.68, Drew Wekar took first in the 500-yard freestyle. In the women's 500-yard freestyle,
Lydia Lapierre took the win with a 5:47.91.
In the last individual events of the meet, Brockport saw another pair of victories in the 100-yard breaststroke races. Liam Farrell took first for the men with a 1:04.68 and
Miya Vitale won her race with a 1:20.58.
Brockport would go on to take first place in the men's 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:33.54. The winning relay team consisted of George Weir, Anthony O'Leary, Caleb McMillan, and Erik Parkes.
The women's 200-yard freestyle relay saw the group of
Skylar King,
Lauryn Ball,
Varshana Ramgulam, and
Sage Vadney claim first place. The Golden Eagles clocked in at 1:49.33 to win the final event of the meet.
Brockport's regular season has now come to an end and the teams will prepare for the upcoming Empire 8 Championships. The 4-day conference championship meet is scheduled to begin Wednesday, February 18
th and run through Saturday, February 21
st.
