Brockport, NY – The men's and women's outdoor track and field decathlon and heptathlon athletes finished up Brockport's two day Multi Meet with strong results.
Gabriel Giannini stood out in the decathlon with a multitude of top performances to take the decathlon champion title with 6687 points, taking his own previous decathlon school record. Giannini finished first in the 100m dash (10.89 seconds), long jump (7.01m), high jump (1.84m), pole vault (4.80m), javelin (52.19m), and the 400m (50.68 seconds). He earned a second-place spot in the shotput (10.99m), eighth in the 110m hurdles (16.63 seconds), seventh in the discus (28.47m), and 13
th in the 1500m (5:23.99).
Tyler Judd also finished the competition with hard-earned results, finishing in 11
th with 5088 points. Judd took second in the high jump (1.81m), sixth in the shotput (10.07m), eighth in the javelin (36.61m), ninth in both the 100m dash (11.64 seconds) and long jump (6.04m), 10
th in the discus (27.22m), 11
th in the 400m (55.46 seconds) and pole vault (3.10m), 12
th in the 1500m (5:23.28), and 14
th in the 110m hurdles (18.84 seconds).
In the women's heptathlon, Leann Clay and Tessa Patchen finished up the meet in sixth and seventh place, with Clay accumulating 2988 total points, and Patchen earning 2793 overall.
Clay took second in the 110m hurdles (17.11 seconds), sixth in the long jump (4..47m) and the 800m (2:49.27), seventh in the high jump (1.34m), 200m (29.02 seconds), and javelin (15.42m), and ninth in the shotput (6.55m).
Patchen finished third in the high jump (1.43m) and the javelin (18.89m), fifth in the 200m (28.10 seconds), seventh in the long jump (4.35m) and 800m (2:53.63), and eighth in the 100m hurdles (21.03 seconds), and shotput (6.73m).
The Golden Eagles are set to be on the road to the University of Rochester on Sunday, April 19
th, starting at 10am.
