Brockport, NY – The Brockport baseball team (15-13, 12-0 E8) opened its 2026 home schedule dominantly with a 14-4 victory in seven innings over Houghton (11-12) on Tuesday, April 14.
After trailing 4-2 through four innings, the Golden Eagles' offense erupted, scoring the game's final 12 runs to extend the team's winning streak to 14 games.
James Dixon delivered a perfect performance at the plate, reaching base five times and finishing 4-for-4 with a walk, three runs scored, and one RBI.
Evan Brock matched the effort, going 3-for-3 with two hit-by-pitches, four runs scored, two doubles, and two RBIs.
Michael Norton showcased his power, finishing 3-for-4 with two extra-base hits, including a two-run home run, while scoring three times and driving in two runs.
Charles Searle (W, 4-0) was outstanding in relief, shutting down the Highlanders with three hitless innings and two strikeouts to close out the shortened contest.
Following a scoreless first inning, Brockport took an early 2-0 lead on a two-RBI single from Nick Mahar, scoring Dixon and Brock. Houghton responded in the fourth inning, taking a 4-2 advantage highlighted by a two-run home run from Ty Kenney.
The Golden Eagles answered in the fifth, reclaiming the lead with a two-RBI double from Brock and a sacrifice fly by Kyle Blake to go ahead 6-5. Brockport then broke the game open with a five-run sixth inning, featuring RBI hits from Matthew Coon, Kyle Blake (2 RBI), and Matt Mayer to extend the lead to 10-4.
Needing four runs to trigger the run rule, Norton ignited the seventh inning with a two-run homer. Dixon followed with an RBI single and later scored to seal the 14-4 victory.
Every Golden Eagles starter recorded at least one hit, while seven of the nine starters drove in at least one run.
