Brockport's offense powered the win with five home runs and six multi-hit performances, setting season highs in both runs scored (19) and RBIs (18).
Out of the bullpen, Nick Ianniello provided stability, tossing the final 4.1 innings while allowing just one earned run and striking out four. After Elmira scored 11 runs over the first five innings, only two additional runs crossed the plate the rest of the way.
Elmira opened the scoring with a run in the bottom of the second before Brockport responded with an eight-run third inning. Matt Mayer and Michael Norton drew RBI walks to get things started, and James Dixon followed with a two-run single to give Brockport a 4-1 lead. After an Elmira error extended the advantage, Matthew Coon cleared the bases with a three-run home run—his fourth of the season and first of two on the day—to make it 8-1.
Elmira answered with three runs in the bottom of the third, but Brockport remained in control, scoring seven unanswered runs across the fourth and fifth innings. In the fourth, Kyle Blake launched a two-run homer, and Coon followed with a solo shot in the next at-bat. Coon continued his dominant stretch, extending his hitting streak to 11 games and finishing 3-for-5 with two home runs, five RBIs, and two runs scored. Evan Brock added a two-RBI single to cap a five-run inning and give Brockport a 13-4 lead.
The Golden Eagles continued their power surge in the fifth, as Mayer hit his second home run of the season and Coon added an RBI single to extend the lead to 15-4. Elmira responded with a seven-run fifth inning to cut the deficit to 15-11, but Brockport answered again in the sixth with a two-run home run from Blake Fortunato.
Despite Elmira scoring two more runs late, Brockport closed out the game with two final runs, as Josh Indek and Cole Grazioplene each drove in runs to secure the victory.
Josh Indek reached base five times from the leadoff spot, going 2-for-3 with three walks, three runs scored, and an RBI. James Dixon added three runs, finishing 2-for-4 with a walk and two RBIs.
Matt Mayer delivered a strong all-around performance, going 2-for-5 with a triple, a home run, two RBIs, and two runs scored. Evan Brock and Kyle Blake each contributed two hits, two RBIs, and two runs scored.
As a team, the Golden Eagles totaled 15 hits, drew nine walks, were hit by pitches four times, and stole two bases.
