Outdoor T&F Take on AARTFC Regionals

Brockport, NY – The All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference Outdoor Championships await the Brockport men's and women's outdoor track and field teams as they travel to Ursinus College for competition on Wednesday, May 13 at 12 p.m. and Thursday, May 14 at 10 a.m.

Last Time Out

The Golden Eagles enter regional competition following a strong showing at the Williams Last Chance Meet last weekend, using the meet as a final tune-up before postseason action.

Men's Team Top Performances

Brockport's 4x100-meter relay team of Aaron Rodriguez, Derek Grimshaw, Michael Durski, and Gabriel Giannini secured a sixth-place finish after posting a time of 42.05 seconds.

Timothy Smith continued his standout campaign with a third-place finish in the 800-meter run, clocking in at 1:51.37 while setting a new Brockport school record.

Ayden Grinion highlighted the Golden Eagles' performances on the track, capturing the 400-meter hurdles title with a winning time of 53.40 seconds.

Gabriel Giannini also delivered a strong performance in the field events, earning fourth place in the long jump with a mark of 6.77 meters.

Women's Team Top Performances

Ethne Degan led the women's squad on the track with a fifth-place finish in the 1500-meter run, crossing the line in 4:35.63.

Alexis Rodriguez added an eighth-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:06.49.

In the field events, Isabel Swyers paced Brockport with a 10th-place finish in the pole vault after clearing 3.43 meters.

National Rankings

Timothy Smith has put together a dominant season for the Golden Eagles, currently ranking 21st nationally in NCAA Division III in the 400-meter hurdles and 27th in the 800-meter run. Ayden Grinion also ranks among the nation's best in the 400-meter hurdles, sitting 25th overall.

Gabriel Giannini holds national rankings in multiple events, placing 31st in the pole vault, 26th in the long jump, and 12th in the decathlon.

Jared Smith enters the regional championships ranked 32nd nationally in the 10,000-meter run, while Dennis Bobbitt sits 37th in Division III in the triple jump.

On the women's side, Isabel Swyers is currently ranked 40th nationally in the pole vault.

Up Next

Following the regional championships, qualifying athletes will advance to the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships, scheduled for May 21–23 at the Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex in La Crosse. The official list of national qualifiers is set to be announced Monday, May 18.
