Collegeville, Pa. – The men's and women's outdoor track and field teams closed out Day Two of the AARTFC Outdoor Championships on Saturday with another strong showing, highlighted by multiple podium finishes and top-eight performances.
Men's Team
The quartet of Alex Peske, Derek Grimshaw, Michael Durski, and Gabe Giannini delivered a runner-up finish in the 4x100 relay, combining for a time of 41.14 seconds to secure second place overall. Durski also represented Brockport in the 400-meter dash, placing 14th with a time of 49.28.
In the 800 meters, Owen Arbocus turned in an impressive performance, earning fourth place after crossing the line in 1:53.39. Howie Vargas added a 12th-place finish in the 1500 meters with a mark of 4:04.27. The 4x800 relay team of Frank Calhoun, Brayden Mahoney, Owen Arbocus, and Tim Smith recorded an 8:01.54 performance to capture seventh place.
Brockport continued its success in the 400-meter hurdles as Ayden Grinion posted a fourth-place finish in 53.19. Tim Smith followed closely behind in seventh with a time of 53.84, while Jeremy Chen placed 17th overall after clocking in at 55.59.
In the field events, Dennis Bobbitt delivered a standout effort in the triple jump, placing fourth with a leap of 14.60 meters. Judson Delany also competed in the event, finishing 19th with a mark of 13.43 meters.
Women's Team
Ethne Degan paced the women's distance squad with a fourth-place finish in the 1500 meters, recording a time of 4:36.53. Lexi Rodriguez added a 14th-place performance in the 400-meter hurdles after posting a mark of 1:08.59.
The 4x800 relay team of Aaliyah Wright, Lily Pink, Maeve Robarge, and Ethne Degan earned a spot on the podium with a third-place finish, crossing the line in 9:23.80.
In the field events, MeKenna Uhl opened competition for Brockport with a 16th-place finish in the discus throw after recording a toss of 37.76 meters. Sasha Schramm added a mark of 10.74 meters in the triple jump to finish 22nd overall.
Up Next: Qualifying members of the Green and Gold will travel to Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Competition is scheduled to begin Thursday, May 21, with event times still to be announced.
