SUNY Brockport is proud to announce that three Golden Eagle student-athletes have been selected to participate in the prestigious NCAA Career in Sports Forum at NCAA Headquarters in Indianapolis this May: men's hockey defenseman
Josh Higgins, women's lacrosse defender
Maeve Kelleher, and men's lacrosse midfielder
Tyler Pastore.
Brockport trio headed to NCAA Headquarters
Higgins, Kelleher, and Pastore are among just 200 NCAA student-athletes nationwide chosen to attend the multi-day NCAA Career in Sports Forum, held May 27–30, 2026, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Hosted at NCAA Headquarters, the forum brings together third-, fourth- and fifth-year, as well as graduate student-athletes, who are interested in exploring careers in college athletics and the broader sports industry. Participants are nominated by campus athletics administrators and selected through a competitive national process.
About the NCAA Career in Sports Forum
The NCAA Career in Sports Forum is an intensive career development experience designed to help student-athletes chart a path to professions in coaching, administration, sports business, health care, and other sport-related fields. Over three days, attendees engage with industry leaders through keynote presentations, panel discussions, and hands-on workshops that focus on leadership, personal branding, networking, and building a long-term career plan in sports. The NCAA covers the cost of travel, lodging, meals and program materials, allowing selected student-athletes to fully immerse themselves in the forum experience at no cost to them or their institutions.
Forum participants also have the chance to build a national peer and mentor network, connecting with administrators, coaches, and fellow student-athletes from all three NCAA divisions. The program helps student-athletes understand how the skills they develop in competition—teamwork, resilience, time management and communication—translate into impactful careers beyond their playing days.

Tyler Pastore – Men's Lacrosse

By attending the NCAA Career in Sports Forum, these Golden Eagles will have the chance to explore career paths that allow them to stay connected to the sport—whether through coaching, operations, or other roles in athletics—while building a national network of professionals and peers in the industry. The experience will complement their on-field development and help them leverage their student-athlete experience into future opportunities in the sports world.
