The Golden Eagles carried that momentum into the postseason, rolling to the Empire 8 Championship game with victories over Russell Sage, 4-0, and Elmira, 3-1. Brockport would ultimately see its championship run come to an end against top-seeded SUNY Geneseo, falling in a tightly contested 2-1 overtime decision.

Despite the heartbreaking finish, several Golden Eagles were recognized for standout postseason performances. AJ Nelson, Brady Reinagel, and Alex Rivara were each named to the Empire 8 All-Tournament Team, while Rivara was honored as the conference's Defensive Player of the Year and Nelson earned Goalkeeper of the Year honors.

The postseason accolades continued beyond the conference level, as Nelson, Rivara, Max Voyer, and Khadim Amar each earned All-Region recognition. Nelson and Rivara also added First Team All-ECAC honors to their impressive 2025 résumés, capping a season that established Brockport as one of the Empire 8's top programs.

Returning Firepower: Despite losing two of the squad's top three scorers from last season, the Golden Eagles return a plethora of high-end talent ahead of the 2026 season. Ryan Mathis returns to the Brockport lineup looking to build off a sensational freshman season, leading Brockport in goals (7) and points (16) in 2025. Between the pipes, AJ Nelson returns following an exceptional freshman season that resulted in Empire 8 and UCHC Goalkeeper of the Year awards. Matthew Sandison and Andrew Watrous return alongside Nelson to form an experienced goalkeeping group, with the Golden Eagles retaining a slew of veteran players across the field. The Green and Gold welcome back three players who started all 18 games from last season, including Jadin Lyle (4P), Khadim Amar (3G, 7P), and Trevor Lagarde (4A, 8P). On the backline, Parker Warren returns for his sophomore season, with Peter Tinaj, Finn Sullivan, Jaidyn Caccomo, Mauricio Leiva, Keegan Watson, Arthur Barrozo-Fernaine, and Micaiah Benjamin-Castle all bringing valuable experience to the squad.

New Faces: Brockport welcomes seven freshman additions to the program, featuring Jaden Russell, Aiden Johnson, Amisi Juma, Logan Matthews, Matteo Burbige, Alex Caldiero, and Victory Shalamba. The Golden Eagles welcome transfers Kyle Milburn (SUNY Cortland), Antonio Wilson (Niagara), Max Maouris (SUNY Ulster), Angel Rosario (SUNY Ulster), Jamie Joel (St. Thomas Aquinas), Ethan Sanderson, and Greg Ramin (Onondaga CC). The 2026 squad features an intriguing mix of proven talent and potential upside.

Scouting RIT: The Tigers finished the 2025 season with a 6-6-4 record and a 2-4-3 mark in Liberty League play. In last year's season opener, the Golden Eagles defeated RIT, 1-0, on home turf for back-to-back wins against the Tigers.

Scouting Rochester: Rochester will be looking to build off a 9-5-4 overall record in 2025, finishing 3-3-1 in the UAA conference. Saturday's matchup will see both teams looking to break a two-match stalemate, with the two squads tying in each of the last two matchups.
