BROCKPORT, NY - The Brockport men's soccer team (2-3-1, 1-0 E8) welcomes Empire 8 rival SUNY Geneseo (4-2-1, 1-0 E8) for the Golden Eagles Green & Gold game on Wednesday, September 23rd at 4 PM.

Homecoming Weekend

Men's Soccer made the most of a busy weekend, defeating SUNY Poly, 3-0, during Operation 1K/Youth Soccer Day on Saturday, September 19th. The victory gave Brockport an undefeated start to conference play.

The Golden Eagles wasted no time getting on the scoreboard, as Aiden Johnson and Khadim Amar each found the back of the net within the first 14 minutes. Johnson's goal at the 9:03 mark marked his first as a Golden Eagle, while Trevor Lagarde recorded assists on both goals.

Kyle Milburn added an insurance goal at the 52:20 mark, burying a Jadin Lyle feed to put the game out of reach. The junior transfer from Spencerport, NY, recorded his first tally with the Green and Gold.

AJ Nelson (W, 2-3) recorded his first clean sheet of the season, making four second-half saves to preserve the shutout.

Key Distributor

Leading the Golden Eagles with five assists, Trevor Lagarde has been instrumental to the success of the Brockport offensive attack. Lagarde leads the Empire 8 in assists per game (1.0) and is tied for the conference lead in assists, despite playing two fewer games than the leader.

Carrying the Load

Each ranking within the Empire 8's top-10 in points, Khadim Amar and Ryan Mathis have carried Brockport in the scoring department. Amar ranks second in goals (4) and third in points (10), while Mathis is close behind with three goals (6th) and seven points (5th).

Scouting Geneseo

The Knights are coming off a 1-0 Empire 8-opening win against Utica, posting a 3-0-1 record across their last four outings. Meeting 25 times since 2002, the Golden Eagles hold an 11-7-7 edge in the head-to-head series. Since 2018, Brockport has posted a 4-2-3 record against the Knights.
