BROCKPORT, N.Y. — The Brockport men's soccer team picked up a 2-1 victory over Keuka
on Saturday, scoring the game-winning goal late in the second half to secure the win.
Brockport opened the scoring in the 43rd minute when Khadim Amar found the back of the net for his fifth goal of the season. Amar's goal came off an assist from Max Maouris, giving the Golden Eagles a 1-0 advantage heading into halftime.
Keuka responded in the 61st minute when Patrick Mucha scored his first goal of the season. Jakob Snyder provided the assist, leveling the match at 1-1.
With the game still tied late in regulation, Brockport earned a penalty kick in the 89th minute. Ryan Mathis converted the opportunity for his third goal of the season, putting the Golden Eagles ahead 2-1.
Brockport finished with a 14-5 advantage in shots and held a 6-1 edge in shots on goal. Amar led the Golden Eagles with three shots, including one on target, while Mathis also recorded three shots and scored the game-winning penalty.
Mathis and Amar led all players with three shots each, in addition to netting each of Brockport's goals.
AJ Nelson played all 90 minutes in goal for Brockport, earning the win.
Jadin Lyle, Khadim Amar, Parker Warren, and Trevor Lagarde never left the field for Brockport, each playing 90 minutes in excellent efforts.
