As SUNY Brockport (SUCF) continues to invest in enhancing our academic, athletic and recreation facilities, we want to share an important update regarding the first phase of the Tuttle Complex Renovation Project. On May 15, 2026 - construction will begin in Tuttle, and several facility adjustments will be required to support this work.
Areas Impacted
Beginning May 15, 2026 the following spaces in Tuttle North will be impacted indefinitely for the following 18 months:
- Pool (Restricted access for Open Swim & External Events)
- We anticipate that we will continue to host classes, varsity practices, club practices, swim & gym, BCSD practices and swim lessons beginning again in September 2026 and continuing through the completion of the project.                   Â
- Men’s General Locker Room (Closed)
- Women’s General Locker Room (Closed)
These adjustments are necessary to allow contractors to begin the renovation safely and efficiently. Alternate bathrooms will be located in C-145 (men’s faculty), C-148 (women’s faculty), C-137 (men’s officials), & C-138 (women’s officials). Lockers will not be available in these spaces, and all personal lockers must be emptied by May 9th at 5:00 p.m.
Abatement will shut down the access to the impacted areas and hallways for a month or more beginning May 18th. Abatement will start in the Tuttle North laundry room and work its way through the hallways and into the general locker rooms, showers, and bathrooms. With that comes the loss of 30 parking spots on the south end of T-lot.
Fall 2026 Pool Operations
While the pool will temporarily close during the initial phase of construction, the following adjustments have been planned to minimize academic and athletic disruption:
- The pool will reopen for academic classes at the start of the Fall 2026 semester.
- Varsity swimming and diving practices will continue as normal in the fall.
- There will be no open swim opportunities during the renovation period.
- We will not host outside aquatics groups or rentals due to the unavailability of general-use locker rooms.
To support our academic classes and varsity programs, a temporary locker room space will be constructed and designated specifically for the swimming and diving teams during the renovation period.
Looking Ahead
This renovation marks a significant step forward in the modernization of the Tuttle Complex and reflects our commitment to improving facilities for students, faculty, staff, and the campus community. We appreciate your patience and flexibility as we begin this important project.
Additional updates will be communicated as construction progresses.
If you have questions about program impacts or facility access, please contact the Athletics Department or the Office of Facilities and Planning.
Thank you for your cooperation as we work to enhance the Brockport experience for all Golden Eagles.
