Ethan Cetton joined the Brockport baseball coaching staff in the summer of 2025 as an assistant coach. He brings extensive playing experience, having competed successfully at both the collegiate and professional levels as a pitcher.
Before arriving in Brockport, Cetton spent five years at Houghton University, where he anchored the Highlanders’ pitching staff. He graduated as the program’s all-time leader in wins, strikeouts, complete games, innings pitched, and postseason victories. During his senior campaign, he was named the 2024 Empire 8 Pitcher of the Year and led all of NCAA Division III in complete games (6).
Following graduation, Cetton signed a professional contract with the Utica Unicorns of the United Shores Professional Baseball League in the spring of 2025.
“I’m ecstatic to begin my coaching career alongside Coach Pontari,” said Cetton. “It was always enjoyable competing against him during my college playing days, so joining his staff is a great fit. I’m looking forward to helping our pitching staff grow in all areas of the game, as well as assisting in recruiting prospective athletes.”
A three-year team captain at Houghton, Cetton earned his bachelor’s degree in Inclusive Childhood Education in 2024. He looks forward to beginning his coaching career at Brockport and contributing to the program’s continued success.
