Since taking over as The College at Brockport Golden Eagle's pitching coach in the Fall of 2014, James Williamson has helped three pitchers (Jerolimov-1st 2017, McCumiskey-1st 2016, Lander-2nd 2015) earn All-SUNYAC honors, and helped Kyle Perez (2016) sign a professional independent baseball contract with the Roswell Invaders of the PECOS League. 
 
Williamson enters his ninth season with the Golden Eagles as a former player and current coach. Williamson has been with Head Coach Justin Beach for all but two of Beach’s 11 years as head skipper.
 
In 2017 and 2018, Williamson will be taking on more responsibilities from Beach as the Director of Baseball Operations, and will assist with supervision of practice and program operations; supervision of assistant coaches, assist with recruiting, assist with fundraising and alumni relations, scheduling, purchasing of equipment and team logistical operations. 
 
Williamson has also invested a great deal of time building relations with program alumni, attending highly respected baseball camps such as: Mississippi State, Navy and Army, as well as attending yearly coaching conventions to better himself has a coach and leader.
 
During the Summer of 2016, Williamson became assistant baseball coach for the Hornell Dodgers of the New York Collegiate Baseball League (NYCBL). He primarily worked as the teams pitching coach and helped their team clinch a playoff birth and win the Wild Card game vs. Wellsville Nitros.
 
Later that year, Williamson received his first head coaching opportunity for the newly formed Syracuse Spartans of the NYCBL in October 2016. He then went on to recruit his entire team and coaching staff before leading his team to the 2017 NYCBL Championship Game in the Spartans' inaugural season.
 
Williamson and the Syracuse Spartans finished the season as Eastern Division Champions, and NYCBL Championship Runner Up's posting a 27-22, while going 4-3 in playoffs, which was the second most wins in the NYCBL during 2017.
 
Three of Williamson's players earned ALL-NYCBL honors, and seven players were selected to the 2017 NYCBL All-Star game. Williamson's Spartans led the league in fielding percentage (.965) and were second in the league for ERA (3.65)
 
Prior to coaching, Williamson played four years (2008-2012) of baseball for the Golden Eagles, working primarily as a relief pitcher. In his four years of play he accumulated a 7-6 record and is currently 2nd all-time in career appearances (59), 4th all-time in career ERA (2.66), 10th all-time in career strikeouts (100) and 18th all-time in NCAA Division 3 for fewest hits allowed (71) per nine innings in a minimum of 100 innings.
 
Williamson earned both his Undergraduate (Sport Management/Coaching-2013) and Master's (Athletic Administration-2016) degree's from The College at Brockport.

In 2017 Williamson will also be teaching a total of five classes within the KSSPE Department, as well as serving as an athletics operations assistant where he will be primarily responsible for supervising athletic events, and assisting the Director of Athletic Facilities and Operations.
